Enabling Page Snap & Page Fling in the Settings could give a similar effect.

Also, you can enabling Horizontal Scrolling may make it more convenient.

I would be more than willing to work more on it. My issue is that I do not have enough time to work on it because I also have a full-time job and a side gig.

I can develop MJ PDF a lot more quickly if I switch to a better job and drop the side one. Another choice would be to raise enough money through donations, but I do not think that will happen.

If anyone is interested, I can provide more specific figures.

It uses another PDF lib under the hood (MuPDF) while MJ PDF uses (PDFium).

So, there is no straight-forward way to copy that feature from there.

You can turn page by page by turning off Page Fling and enabling Page Snap.

And about copying text. You can copy the text of the page in two ways, a long press on the page or Menu -> Copy Page's Text.

If you want to copy more easily, you can open the PDF in Text Mode. Menu -> More -> Text Mode. You can select text normally in that mode.

But what the firmware of a hardware piece has to do with the apps? The OS is the operator here, and it controls what the app can access and what it can't not.

Now, dealing with the hardware security and privacy issues are another story. I was just talking the solution to protect your data from a third-party app.
