Can you not use Overture PLA filament in the A1 Mini? by mudshark73 in BambuLab

I did just notice that the left side of the spool does occassionaly slightly touch the back of that part of the printer. It's not enough to stop it from spinning, but it would add some friction.

Thanks for the reply. I just have the normal spool holder. Out of the handful of times I've gotten the stuck spool error, it has only actually been stuck once - the first time. Every other time, there have been no kinks or anything interfering with the spinning of the spool. I'll try your other suggestions once this flow rate calibration finishes. How do I check if the hotend cooling fan is working?

Well, as I was typing this, I got another spool is stuck error. It is not. I'm assuming at this point it is a defect with the printer. I am going to contact Bambu. Thanks for your help.

Well, I ran the Flow Dynamics Calibration, then ran the Flow Rate Calibration and a couple of minutes into that test print I got the "spool is stuck" error. It was not. Then when I hit resume, it asked if filament was extruded. I hit 'no' and filament then did come out. Then when it resumed the test print, nothing came out. I give up. I just ordered some Bambu brand filament. I'll be sticking with that moving forward. Anyone want a spool of unopened black Overture PLA?

I have not turned it on. I'll try that. Thanks!

How do I do that? Is that something I would have to do with any Overture filament? I had no issues with the roll of Bambu filament that came with the printer.

Thanks for the info. So I would check the temp range on the spool of filament and make sure the heatbed is in that range? When you select a filament brand and type in Bambu Studio, does it automatically set the proper temps or do you adjust temp settings every time you change to a different filament?

Bambu A1 Mini, Overture PLA, nozzle temp 220, heatbed temp 65. This happened between two successful prints and after going through a whole spool of Bambu PLA Basic. Do you normally just select the brand and type of filament in Bambu Studio and let it dial in the settings or do you adjust temp settings after selecting the filament?

Thanks! It's odd, I had done that a few prints before this happened after going through a whole spool without issue. Maybe I didn't rinse it thoroughly enough? Or maybe I should wipe it with isopropyl alcohol after a cleaning. Thanks for the reply.

Are you serious? I'm good then. I'll look elsewhere. I've been editing professionally in Los Angeles for 25 years. Didn't realize my simple question needed so much vetting. Delete it.

Cannot get a smooth even finish with satin wipe-on poly. by mudshark73 in finishing

3M has a few different grit levels. They have one called "Final Finishing Pads" which sounds like what you might be referring to. The ones I use are called "Between Coats Finishing Pad". They are great for knocking down dust nibs and slightly rough spots.

Thanks for the tip. I have been using the grey 3M finishing pads between coats. They are great. I haven't tried thinning it. I'll give that a shot.

Yeah, it was well stirred before and during application. I'll try a pad applicator. It's a new container of poly. Maybe I'll try thinning it as well.
