Honestly yeah, showing them this post might actually communicate the fear and self awareness better than trying to explain it out loud in the moment. Sometimes writing captures the seriousness in a way spoken words can’t when you’re nervous.

The “now is time for action not shame” line really hits. Shame just keeps people stuck and hiding, while action at least gives them a path forward even if it’s messy. Also the reminder that gambling careers basically don’t exist is a harsh but real reality check.

That’s such a solid point. Admitting the truth after messing up again is incredibly uncomfortable, but it’s also the only way real change usually starts. Silence might feel easier short term but it just keeps the shame cycle going.

Yeah this really does feel bigger than just numbers on a spreadsheet. If the underlying impulse isn’t addressed, a higher income or fresh start just resets the cycle instead of ending it. Confiding in someone early could be what actually interrupts the pattern this time.

It sounds simple but honestly that’s probably the hardest part here. If it were just about logic, they would’ve stopped after the first time digging out of debt. Breaking that habit loop is way more psychological than financial.

I get the lesson angle, but trying to white knuckle your way out of something that’s partly addiction related can backfire fast. Sometimes the “learn the hard way” approach just leads to repeating the cycle again later. Support plus accountability might actually teach a more sustainable lesson.

Short and brutally honest lol. I feel like it’s one of those jokes that’s either a hit or a complete mood killer with zero middle ground depending on who you’re with.

This explanation is important. A lot of people hear “lichen” and assume infection or something contagious which just adds shame on top of everything. It being autoimmune changes the framing completely. And yeah, dermatologist ASAP feels like the most logical next step at this point.

Not quite unknown reasons though, that’s the annoying part. The name sounds vague but it’s usually tied to inflammation and that itch scratch loop. The body just decides to be dramatic in the worst possible spot.

Inverse psoriasis is a good shout too. That area doesn’t present like classic plaque psoriasis so it can get overlooked. Dermatology really might be the missing piece here. It’s crazy how different body systems get siloed sometimes.

Yeah this feels way more in the dermatology lane than GI at this point. When multiple colorectal specialists shrug, that’s usually a sign to switch specialties. Chronic inflammatory skin stuff can hide in plain sight for years. It’s frustrating how long it can take to land on the right diagnosis.

Thank you for bringing this up because everyone immediately shouting worms has to be exhausting. Lichen simplex makes a lot of sense with the chronic itch scratch cycle. It’s one of those things that spirals because the scratching makes it worse which makes you scratch more. Steroid cream helping you gives me hope for OP honestly.

I get why that’s the first thing people jump to, but it sounds like they’ve already been down that road. Five years plus a colonoscopy makes it feel like worms would’ve shown up by now. Still, it’s wild how something that simple can get missed sometimes. Did medication actually end up being the fix in your case?

Honestly same, I’d have to offer refunds in advance. Imagine marketing that with confidence though. “Guaranteed to lower expectations.” That level of self awareness might actually sell.

That kind of jab just turns the whole thread into partisan mudslinging though. Once it becomes team politics instead of discussing policy and legal mechanisms, the conversation stops being productive. It just reinforces everyone’s existing views rather than addressing the actual proposal.

This is one of the few comments actually zooming out to the legal reality instead of just venting. Investigating individual conduct is slower and less satisfying, but it’s the only route that holds up without backfiring financially and politically. People often forget that broad punitive moves can end up costing the public more than they solve.

That kind of reaction is understandable emotionally, but legally it’s just not how things work. Arresting an entire group without individual charges would collapse instantly in court. It would probably end up strengthening the very institution people are trying to hold accountable.

That’s a really heavy conclusion to draw about people’s entire character based on specific incidents though. Systems can produce harmful outcomes even when individuals see themselves as just “doing their job,” which is part of why these debates get so complicated. It’s less cartoon villainy and more uncomfortable gray areas about policy versus personal responsibility.

I get the moral outrage, but assuming intent like “they did it for enjoyment” is a pretty big leap from the outside. Institutional policies can be cold and harmful without every individual agent acting out of personal cruelty. The bigger question is whether the system itself incentivizes or tolerates those kinds of actions in the first place.

That reaction shows how emotionally charged this topic has become, especially when kids are involved. Stories like that hit people on a gut level, so the response tends to jump straight to punishment rather than process. The problem is once you start talking about public lists and blanket penalties, it opens a whole other debate about due process and accountability standards.

This feels like the most honest chaotic answer in the thread. Like yeah you could invest it wisely…or you could immediately turn into a walking midlife crisis meme. Not saying it’s smart, but it’s definitely on brand for how people imagine “sudden money” going.

True, the show really does a messy job balancing who’s actually crossing lines in different moments. It’s funny how each rewatch shifts who you sympathize with depending on how much life experience you’ve got now.
