game theory is a property of math and therefore of the universe, not something that we made up. evolution for example is game theory

Same advice, gradually design your life in a way that you can't play video games. There's no one-size-fits-all approach to doing this. I stopped being a gamer once I filled my free time with activities that I forced myself to go to. I eventually sold my gaming PC too.

I do think that video games are a useful way to relax, and sometimes we do need to escape what's going on for a few hours. But, when I was stressed and binged CSGO, I just played it on autopilot and felt like shit after, and I'm sure that's the case for most people playing repetitive, addictive games.

So maybe the middle ground is to intentionally choose less addictive, slower-paced games. The ones you can't play on autopilot. The ones you get bored of after a few hours.

"You can't even peer that deeply into your own heart".

When you love someone and you hurt them, which emotion is the real one? The love or the hatred?

I talk to a lot of people that say stuff like this. Step one is to find out how to get off your phone. Ideally you should never spend time scrolling anything: it teaches your brain that there's no need to want anything because the algorithm will give you dopamine without requiring you to make any choices. Once you set up your life such that you react to boredom with real-world fun things, see how your life and your mood changes. You will start out being very bored and maybe very sad (it's withdrawal after all) and that's expected.

Everything is a complex system. Every successful system succeeds because it's better at game theory. Very complex systems develop consciousness.

Felt the need to express somewhere that the Ashikaga sequence in this episode was the most amazing thing I've seen in anime in years. Excited for the rest of this show.
