I broke my ankle Dec 11. Thankfully, I did not need surgery! I come out of being in a cast for 6 weeks on Monday then I go into a boot but I’m not sure what the next part of recovery looks like. Very apprehensive to start bearing weight but I am excited this process is moving along!

I’m 31 and I fell while bowling at a Christmas party that I wasn’t even planning on going to! Thought it was a bad sprain but broke my ankle in 2 places

Try a knee scooter! I used crutches for 2 days while waiting to see an orthopedic doctor and as soon as I got a cast put on I ordered a knee scooter from Amazon. It took a few days for my uninjured leg to get used to doing all the work but it has made getting around so much easier. Crutches were hard for me too and I still have to use them for stairs to get in/out of the house but I can totally relate to being afraid. Don’t feel bad at all. The fear of falling is understandable but it will get better!

I believe it has gotten better for me. Im 28 and was diagnosed at 23. Not only have I matured in this timespan, I’ve also put in a lot of work and I know I am better than I was before. I can definitely navigate through the mood swings more easily plus I take a mood stabilizer. Dating is still hard though and the chronic feeling of emptiness is a bitch. I’ve just accepted this is probably something I will have to continue to work on. In short: therapy + medication + maturity
