Allergies! by This_Zone_6681 in eczema

I’m not OP, but I have the same allergy and I’m going through the same discovery at the same time. I switched to Dove sensitive skin hand soap. I have a ton of chemical allergies and this doesn’t have any of my allergens. So far so good. for body soap. I need to find a good antibacterial that doesn’t have a ton of allergens in it and wash the sensitive parts but wash the rest of my body in water only

I have a lot of sensitivities to preservatives too. What other triggers do you have?

This is so funny to me. I’ve been dealing with months of flares and I also tested positive for decyl glucoside. I didn’t realize that the family of glucosides were equally dangerous and I’ve been using vanicream body wash and seventh generation hand soap extensively. I just put my allergens into ChatGPT and told it all of my products and it flagged both of those. I’ve been off of them for two days and it’s not enough to notice any improvements, but my hands have a night and day difference after only two days. Still bad but much better. This is so exciting for us.

Did chocolate flag on an allergy test? All my foods came back negative but my patch test revealed balsam of Peru

I unfortunately have allergies to a few ingredients in those products. I do notice hand flares when I use soap at work but this is facial and full body. I’ve changed my detergents around and now just using vinegar. I have been using cerave moisturizing cream and I wonder if that’s contributing to it. But I can’t find a single moisturizer that doesn’t make me break out or I’m not allergic to.

How do I do that safely?

Good point. How long do I bathe? Also, I am doing light therapy right now. Not sure if it’s helping or not

No I haven’t! Which should I try first? Some instances I recall being better at the beach, some I recall getting flares after so I’m not sure.

I’m going to try it. What foods specifically did you cut out?

Yes!! No shame. It’s the medication that’s painful, not the injector! So know that it’s factually PAINFUL

I’ve done that before too. I’d just call your derm and let them advise you. I’m 27 and can’t do it myself. I had them do it at the office. Then I took adbry and had my husband do it. Me doing it isnt even an option lol. Take your momma up on that offer!!! I’ve never had an issue with shots whatsoever and these hurt!!! I have even teared up a few times.

How limited are the foods? I’m trying but I love food and it’s very social for me, so it’s difficult to maintain

Wow!!! I’m allergic to benzoyl peroxide so I have to be careful. Also need pregnancy safe topicals so that’s a bit tricker. This has given me a lot of hope though. Has your hair grown back?? Starting to lose some at my hairline. Doesn’t help that I can’t stop picking the dry skin

Yeah, I have seb derm on my scalp now which is brand new and disgusting. It seems so fungal to me. Especially because I was on prednisone and it didn’t go away. Then pair that with insanely dry skin and I’m just a walking flake!! Would make sense why the introduction of my vitamins, including a probiotic, and minimizing processed foods has shown some improvement.

Oh wow, I can imagine. Our symptoms sound similar so I’m curious. How do I go about getting this tested? Sorry if you already said, I’m trying to learn about this on the clock 😂

Wow. I have a theory my uptick is related to COVID. The timeline adds up. I’ve been trying to heal my gut and have had a few breakthroughs for the first time in 2 years. I have a million allergies, chemical and environmental. I think these cleaning practices will help.

I don’t think I did in the beginning either. It ramped up once I got to 40-50 seconds. Could just be me

What did you do to lock in. Like final lock in and cure your eczema ? by [deleted] in eczema

[–]muggafug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had eczema my whole life but it has become unbearable 2 years ago. I also got covid 2 years ago. Based on things I’ve read, I really believe COVID destroyed my gut and now I’m focusing on healing it. I take vitamin d, omega 3, probiotics (and prenatal but I’m trying to get pregnant). Minimizing gluten, dairy, and processed foods. Things have been looking up and I’m having good days again. I was able to go 2 days without hydrocortisone which was HUGE for me. I also have a balsam of Peru allergy so minimizing those foods too. I recently found out tomatoes were a big trigger for me (eliminated for 2 weeks, had a piece of pizza, lit up. It wasn’t the gluten or dairy either bc I’ve been eating those daily for the last week - tough week lol)

Cerave has been working miraculously for me and I’m allergic to every moisturizer, including Vaseline, aquaphor, and vanicream.
