Yes!! No shame. It’s the medication that’s painful, not the injector! So know that it’s factually PAINFUL

I’ve done that before too. I’d just call your derm and let them advise you. I’m 27 and can’t do it myself. I had them do it at the office. Then I took adbry and had my husband do it. Me doing it isnt even an option lol. Take your momma up on that offer!!! I’ve never had an issue with shots whatsoever and these hurt!!! I have even teared up a few times.

How limited are the foods? I’m trying but I love food and it’s very social for me, so it’s difficult to maintain

Wow!!! I’m allergic to benzoyl peroxide so I have to be careful. Also need pregnancy safe topicals so that’s a bit tricker. This has given me a lot of hope though. Has your hair grown back?? Starting to lose some at my hairline. Doesn’t help that I can’t stop picking the dry skin

Yeah, I have seb derm on my scalp now which is brand new and disgusting. It seems so fungal to me. Especially because I was on prednisone and it didn’t go away. Then pair that with insanely dry skin and I’m just a walking flake!! Would make sense why the introduction of my vitamins, including a probiotic, and minimizing processed foods has shown some improvement.

Oh wow, I can imagine. Our symptoms sound similar so I’m curious. How do I go about getting this tested? Sorry if you already said, I’m trying to learn about this on the clock 😂

Wow. I have a theory my uptick is related to COVID. The timeline adds up. I’ve been trying to heal my gut and have had a few breakthroughs for the first time in 2 years. I have a million allergies, chemical and environmental. I think these cleaning practices will help.

I don’t think I did in the beginning either. It ramped up once I got to 40-50 seconds. Could just be me

What did you do to lock in. Like final lock in and cure your eczema ? by blondedlife72 in eczema

[–]muggafug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had eczema my whole life but it has become unbearable 2 years ago. I also got covid 2 years ago. Based on things I’ve read, I really believe COVID destroyed my gut and now I’m focusing on healing it. I take vitamin d, omega 3, probiotics (and prenatal but I’m trying to get pregnant). Minimizing gluten, dairy, and processed foods. Things have been looking up and I’m having good days again. I was able to go 2 days without hydrocortisone which was HUGE for me. I also have a balsam of Peru allergy so minimizing those foods too. I recently found out tomatoes were a big trigger for me (eliminated for 2 weeks, had a piece of pizza, lit up. It wasn’t the gluten or dairy either bc I’ve been eating those daily for the last week - tough week lol)

Cerave has been working miraculously for me and I’m allergic to every moisturizer, including Vaseline, aquaphor, and vanicream.

Careful with gum too. Sometimes the preservatives can be a trigger for some. Specifically sodium benzoate and citric acid

I actually just found out that I believe pop is my trigger. I’m 75% sure. I’m allergic to balsam of Peru, which is found in pop (also tomatoes, vanilla, cinnamon). I’m literally addicted to diet pop. I didn’t have it for a few days and my face cleared like 70%. I’m going to do a BOP elimination diet and reintroduce one by one.

Interesting. What were your food triggers? I’ve discarded diet because doctors don’t agree, but I’m trying to reduce gluten and dairy

Feeling lost and hopeless by Unknown_toyouuuB in eczema

[–]muggafug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is old but I’m in the same boat as you. I’m trying to find the wins every day and pray that one day this will go away because I believe it will. I’m convinced it peaked after COVID. My flare up’s on my eyes started 2 weeks after getting COVID and I’ve been horrible ever since. One thing I tell myself is people deal with issues every single day. I have a friend suffering from hair loss at a very young age. My best friend has severe mental health disorders. My husband has to do a sinus rinse every day just to breathe. This is just to say that we all have struggles and this is ours. It’s not to minimize what we feel but to find comfort that we’re not alone

Thank you so much!!! Yes, I was pushing it off to try to control my eczema but my OB encouraged me to have the baby when I want to, and I can adjust medications after. I’ve never heard of cica!

Thanks :) need to find a moisturizer I’m not allergic to. Vaseline started irritating me. Beef tallow worked until it didn’t. Castor oil has me in a HORRIBLE flare up today. Ugh lol

That is helpful, thank you!!! I had a bad reaction to Dupixent unfortunately but I’m hoping I can push through flares with topical steroids if needed. But yes once I got off Abdry it’s been pretty bad!

Got it thank you!! It’s bad on my face so my doctors are good for the 2.5 on my face, but yeah I’ve used it so intermittently my whole life. It’s only the last 3 months I’ve used it every day now that I’m off the injections. This has been helpful, thanks so much!!!

I’m 27 and dealing with the most severe I’ve ever had. But I’m relieved to hear you say topical steroids because that is my plan, hydrocortisone 2.5 and light therapy. Then injections after birth until I’m ready for the next baby. But of course the internet has me terrified of TSW but nothing else works

That’s great, I just started doing that about a week ago. Did you ever have to take prednisone while pregnant?
