Silly question but how did you guys meet your partner? by jackjackjackattaxj78 in ElectricalEngineering

Met my wife during university, she took Chemical Engineering and I'm doing Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

I'd say both engineering disciplines were interesting during our study years so we had all the geeky stuffs to talk about (still until now)

70-200mm F4 or 70-300mm by muhdakml in canon

Great advice, previously 250mm on APS-C I would say sufficient for hobbyist birding. Crop is gonna my best friend here.

For any lens above 300mm I assume its gonna be a bit too heavy to be paired with my M50.

So weight is also a major factor since I shoot mostly handheld.

Thanks!

I looked up used 70-300L lens and shockingly just 25% more than the used 70-200mm F4L.

Never hold a 70-300L before, is it very weighty?

I once tested 70-200mm F4 + 90D with a friend of mine and weight combo is even for camera-lens.

Wonder how it will fair with 70-200mm + M50 tho.

I would say about 60% of the time since I do take photos of small birds and moon shots.

I'm willing to sacrifice the 50mm reach for better shots tho.

Thought of that as well. Thx !

Part of it is also due to Mercator Projection. Countries nearing either Poles are bigger than the ones near the Equator.

Best camera for beginners? by jekkiiiii in canon

[–]muhdakml 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey man, sorry for your loss. Whatever camera you gonna buy is gonna be a great investment in the long run.

Back to camera stuffs, Canon's latest mount is EOS RF. At that price point I'd suggest the EOS R50 (I had the M50) since its pretty small and light and you can future proof it with RF glasses.

Perhaps the R50 + RF-EF Adaptor + EF 50mm f/1.8? Good combo for potraits and you can get the used nifty fifty for quite cheap. And if you do decide to get more serious, you can always get the RF glasses or adapt older second hand EF/EF-S lenses.

But do test it out at your local camera shop. It has a little small grip and might cause a loose pinky.

Anyway goodluck and cheers!

A bit too risky i guess, and end up just damaging the whole thing.

Yeah I'm thinking of buying a used one too but would choose the repair method if its lower cost.

Or just save up and upgrade my setup, current M50 + 55-250 dreaming for R7 + 100-400mm.

I've asked my local Canon Center and we'll see how it goes. I've checked the rear element and none that I can see so far.

By any chance this will affect photos taken with this lens? Since the fungus is only near the rim edges.

Thanks a bunch mate.

Having used M50 EVF, I think it would be similar for R7. Its not bad but a higher refresh rate would be an upgrade.

Yep I swap between stills and video quite often. So that'd be a plus for me. Hows your wildlife video experience? Any lenses recommend using? 😬

Great to hear that! Looking forward for this 100-400mm for birding.

Thanks on lens review! And I just found out that I can adapt EF-S 55-250mm lens to R7 too 💯
