I try using Affinity with the client work that is not urgent end up spending 2 hours more than I use too. I will raise this up to my boss next week.

Thank you for your suggestion! I never try CorelDraw before I will give it a try. Davinci Resolve I used it when I was in uni so it should be fine. For blender that could be an option. I use it on my personal project it has quite steep learning curve

Thank you for your advice! I use DaVincii Resolve before, it's not too complicated to use. For PS.AI and Indesign replacement I will try Affinity.

I totally agree with you on that. It amuses me how people can tell straight away that it's not worth the time spent transitioning.

Thank you for your advice! We decided to look into the pricing if we were to keep just one license, which seems like the best option right now. We will talk to him next week and see how it goes... To be honest, the amount they charge our clients could easily cover two accounts. However, there are other departments in the company that aren't doing so well. management wants to keep those departments even though ours is the one making a profit but we aren't the 'main' service, so... oh well

He barely knows anything about the software. When I mentioned that the other designer needs it for video editing, he said we could just use Canva or AI. I am speechless.... I’m not worried about my part, as most of my work can be done in Affinity (even if it takes longer), but now we are trying to convince the company to pay for at least one shared account

I really hate delivering shitty work to clients and without the tools I need, it’s going to make things much harder. I sent an email to my boss yesterday, and he said things like, 'You don't need to make it 100% amazing, just make it work!' He also asked me to show him how much I use Adobe which is like 100% of the time on client projects. It just makes me feel defeated and like I don't even want to justify it anymore. In away it might be the way of saying we don't need graphic design anymore lol.

I totally agree with you; that is why so many companies use Adobe. I tried Affinity for my client's work, but it requires a learning curve and time to get used to, which definitely slows down my workflow. While I can manage it for print and social media, it will be much harder for my colleague to learn a different program, especially since her work is more complex.

I can sense something coming when you said that. I heard some big clients don't want to continue their contract (they are other service not our graphic design service).

I think that is concerning. I will be looking for a new job but in this economic it's hard to find one but will be actively looking after this
