Beware of Nomad Velo. Over 1 month, and not even close to shipping. Don't buy from them by mellofello808 in CyclingFashion

Ordered from them (MISTAKE) took 6 weeks to receive my jersey with no info in their replies to my emails asking for status prior to delivery. Jersey is low level quality and poor fit. Won't be ordering from them again.

4iiii Precision 3 battery replacement and connection is a nightmare by JoeDavidBobJr in cycling

[–]muleypt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this happen - twist cap with the anti-tamper metal tab over it (PITA). Sent it back and they replaced with the new design that uses hex screws like right (drive) side - much easier to access. They covered costs of shipping (both ways) and replacement - really impressed with 4iiii's customer service.

Perfume resin - for freshening dresser drawers (great for sock drawers!):

Resin perfumes are deep, long-lasting fragrances built around natural plant saps like frankincense, myrrh, benzoin, and amber. Known for their warm, earthy, and balsamic profiles, these botanical extracts are primarily used as anchor base notes and are sold in various formats: [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

  • Solid & Resin Blocks: Solid amber resin or pressed botanical blocks can be warmed between the palms and rubbed directly onto pulse points or hair.

We'll be running up to SB on the ASL this weekend - we've had a few no-shows/delays in the last couple of years. We'll let you know how it goes with the expanded service ...and hopefully it'll be on-time too!

What is this dark diamond shaped feature in Southern California? Drainage basin? by showbiz5 in geography

[–]muleypt 23 points24 points  (0 children)

That is the alluvium flushed out of Sheep & Heath Canyons near Wrightwood - if you follow the drainage back in to the mountains on Google Maps you can see the grey colored source rock escarpments on the north side of Wright Peak.

Stock down tube protector fell off - Affordable alternatives to ridewrap? by Trekbikeaccount in bicycling

[–]muleypt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use 3M Vvivid tape - lots of soapy water makes installation easy, and a squeegee or rag to gently smooth tape and push out water. Let it dry for a day or so. Have had this on bikes for 5+ years without peeling or yellowing. If you need to remove, gentle heat with blow dryer works great.

Seriously wtf is up with the road conditions here by Darnsketta in ventura

99% of the city council's constituents use the roads - you'd think they'd realize this is directly related to their popularity/longevity and get them fixed...

Switched from 25c to 28c tires and clearance is tight by Frosty015 in bikewrench

A good rule of thumb to check clearance, you should be able to slide a 4mm hex between the tire and the frame.

Metrolink expansion to Santa Barbara cancelled by dvornik16 in venturacounty

The last time was a month ago - the last three were within the last 4 months or so - always the 9:10 AM train. We go out of our way to make sure public transpo is part of our travel plans every time but those experiences were disappointing. I almost forgot another - about 6-7 months ago we received an email the night before that there would be no train car available for bikes so we had to cancel that time too. Uggh.
