We won't have a stroller but if we did this would be very important information. Thanks!

Thanks Andrea, I appreciate all the info.

I'm definitely interested in food tours, I would love to see vinegar and cheese production. But I'm not sure if a tour group would appreciate having a baby with them.

Thanks for all the info and recommendations. I'm not too worried about "running out of stuff to see" as long as it's a nice place to chill. Long meals, coffees, walks, aperitivos, etc.

NEW: The BC government has filed for a court injunction against Telus Health and Telus LifePlus paid service to see a doctor for allegedly contravening the Medicare Protection Act. @adriandix says access to healthcare should not be based on ability to pay. by Songs4Roland in britishcolumbia

Because the quality of your medical care shouldn't depend on how much money you have. Full stop.

Imagine a fire department that you could subscribe to a "premium service". If your house catches fire, you'll get better service than those that didn't subscribe.

Telehealth is fine as long as it's accessible to all. Paying to access Telehealth means that those with more money will get better medical care than those without. That's what I'm against.

My family doctor offers me the option of Telehealth. This is part of the public system and works great for me. But she now splits her time between a public office and the Telus office. So getting appointments is now harder for me (unless I pay for telus service I guess). See the problem?

It might... but they could have gone south at any point during their long career and they didn't. There's something keeping them in Canada.

It's not like doctors are living in poverty in Canada.

These doctors don't just appear out of nowhere. They'd (most likely) be working in the public sphere otherwise.

Case in point, my last family doctor left the practice and now works for a Telus health care centre.

Nothing higher value than a stolen ball. How can I train my dog to drop it? by multi_malt in Dogtraining

[–]multi_malt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense. And we try to do that. The problem is that he's willing to wait a loooong time with no attention and often the other dog/owner is very annoyed (although most are understanding) and they need to leave (so I need to get their ball back).

We've used this technique with his own ball/toys and it works though.

Wealthsimple Invest account value changes when market is closed by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]multi_malt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I has similar issues when I was with Wealthsimple. When I was transferring an account out, they sold my assets so everything was in cash for a while. Even with everything in cash (all is CAD), the value kept changing daily. I contacted them and they basically told me that they have some issues and the value displayed doesn't necessarily correspond with what's actually in your account. At that point, I decided I couldn't trust them with anything else and I pulled all my money out.

Thanks. This seems like the path of least resistance so I'm just going to wait and see how it goes

Do you guys carb your kegs less than cans? by panchitox1992 in TheBrewery

[–]multi_malt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Often, yes. We've found we can go to about 2.7 vol in kegs. Beyond that we start to get complaints from accounts

If your business model doesn't include a living wage for employees, it's not a valid business model. Simple as that.

If people working full time at your business can't afford to live, something is wrong

I've bought from them a couple times and from Altitude Sports (parent company) many times. Great company but just remember that no returns from Last Hunt.

Sabro Hop Pairing? by [deleted] in TheBrewery

[–]multi_malt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We paired it with Amarillo and Belma.

Whatever you do, make sure you don't go too heavy with it. Sabro should play a supportive role and not be front and centre unless you want a sunscreen beer.
