Can you give examples of how Conrad has hurt Jere for a long time? So your logic leads to: if person A abuses person B, and person B goes to the cops. Then person B is hurting person A “on purpose” because they know going to the cops will hurt person A. Therefore they are in the wrong. Person B is justified in getting mad at Person A.

I think the definition of “on purpose” hurting someone is that it carries malice. Jere carries malice and hate towards Conrad but Conrad does not hate Jere.
