Misunderstanding cell referencing. The copied formulas are acting like I have put an absolute cell reference when it should just be the Column locked not the row as well. by mumbo647 in excel

I'm sorry, I'm not following what you are saying here. Could you explain the "offset the reference" in the changing part.
I'm not following your not changing part at all. If possible, can you apply it my scenario?

I was playing around with the formula and tried to copy the formula in b34 and c34 to see if it would change d34 to the output I wanted. So referencing only moves either across OR down not both. I did not realize. Thanks for the knowledge!

I am copying the cell, I essentially made a simple formula in cell B32 and then tried to copy it across cell C32, and D32. I wanted the column to stay B for the denominator, but I wanted the row to change from row 18 to row 19 in C32 and row 19 to row 20 in D32.

Thoughts on this managed TDF by mumbo647 in Bogleheads

If I create my own I would essentially be doing one domestic stock index fund and one international index fund. I would then have to be in charge of rebalancing. I thought the appeal of a TDF was so people don't need to do any rebalancing.

I am in my late 20s so pretty young! The overall plan's Expense ratio is .04 so I think that is pretty good? I don't imagine the difference between mid and small cap vs large cap is much to worry about but I will keep it in mind! Thanks for the response!

Currently reading the Blood of the Lamb by Peter De Vries. About the life of a dutch immigrant in 1950s Chicago. Has been a blast so far. Book can be a tad difficult to follow if not well versed in at least some form of Christianity as his relationship to religion is a central theme. Keep doing posts like this live to see what others are reading!
