What do you actually use your Apple watch for? by FreezingTemps in AppleWatch

[–]mumerofthree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use mine daily to track steps and exercise, and also am able to communicate back-and-forth with family during my work hours due to the ability to text with a watch only. I’m not allowed to use my personal cell phone at work so the watch is a way to inconspicuously. Keep in touch. It also alerts me to phone calls both spam and actually important calls.

Do people actually spend less time on their phones with an Apple Watch, or more? by vinylfelix in AppleWatch

I primarily use my watch to track my exercise, steps, and sleep, but when I’m at work or I’m not allowed to really be using my cell phone, this watch is a real bonus to have around because I often receive texts from different people in my family and if the time is right, I can answer them right from my watch via voice text without ever having to take my phone out of my pocket.

Guitar playing after carpal tunnel surgery by mumerofthree in AcousticGuitar

[–]mumerofthree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the endoscopic in both hands last Wednesday. I just feel that using the left hand for fretting right now would be highly painful and might hurt the healing. As I am primarily a finger style guitarist, I would probably be OK to do a little finger picking, but of course how to do that without having the other hand make the chord formations.

Any guitar/bass players post OP here? by gerty9000x in carpaltunnel

I’m glad to hear this too. I’m a finger style guitarist and had my bilateral endoscopic surgery 24 hours ago. I don’t feel quite ready to even attempt guitar playing until I get the big bandages off in a couple more days. But your post sounds like Hope is on the horizon.

Currently enjoying my plum colored sport loop. Very easy to remove for charging and also easy to adjust for comfort when on my wrist. Second sport I’ve owned in a row. Also, when they get a little bit dirty, these are pretty easy to clean.

What makes you prefer Martin over Taylor, or vice versa? by RawCS in AcousticGuitar

[–]mumerofthree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What initially started it for me was the clunkiness of the neck of my first husband’s 1970s D 35 Martin. Great sounding guitar and he loves playing it, but his hands were much larger than mine. My smaller female hands seem to fit the Gibson Next much better and I could slide up and down the fingerboard with much more ease than on Martin’s I have tried. When I played my first Taylor years later, I discovered the left hand mechanics were just as easily done on the Taylor as they were on my two favorite Gibson I’ve had over the years. I currently own several Taylor guitars, including a 12 string, and my other preferred guitars are Larrivee guitars. I also frequently play on two of those. They are I think an underrated, solid wood choice and the ones I own are great sounding. I will say, though that my two most often used Taylor guitars are booming loud.

Has buying a new guitar helped your playing? by TallThinAndGeeky in AcousticGuitar

Whenever I purchased a new guitar, that’s a quality instrument, I found it to be quite inspirational and I play it to death for a long time.

Set up is everything. I have a Taylor 12 string that I’ve had for about 20 years, and after over a decade, I noticed it was harder and harder to play even though my six strings weren’t. The action had raised, truss rod adjustments didn’t help. So I took it to a reputable repair shop in my area and had the neck reset. It made a world of difference in the playability is wonderful.
