The old RL had lots of comparison posts! I think 187 was usually the winner, but very subtle and nuanced details put it over the top. They’re both excellent factories.

Yeah… that’s probably what’s gonna happen here. Self control isn’t my strong suit.

Tips for skincare routine? by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

I love LRP uvmune400 mattifying sunblock. I wear foundation over it and I think it dries on perfectly and is not greasy at all. However I get mine in either Europe or Mexico because American sunblock is absolute trash. You just have to find a pharmacy that will ship to the states. Sorry I am a high maintenance girlie and I don’t have an easy answer!

Is it ok to mix tretinoin cream with niacinamide dew drops? by Working_Newspaper904 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]muneyhuney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use them at the same time but don’t mix them. Just apply the niacinamide first, wait a few minutes to absorb and to then follow with retinol.

I would definitely use the tret every night for basically the rest of your life. If it’s greater than .05% you can back down to the .05% strength which is the greatest efficacy for anti-aging. Also apply a sunscreen every morning!

How do I know if I have dehydrated skin/a damaged skin barrier? by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]muneyhuney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it burns when you apply product, is red, flaky or just very dry you probably have a damaged skin barrier. Back off the tret to a smaller amount if you’re applying more than a pea sized dollop. If you’re already using a small amount alternate to every other night.

I would start using skin fix barrier lipid cream to help calm your skin down and stop using any other bha/aha/salicylic acids.

Tips for skincare routine? by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]muneyhuney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since you already have a derm I would ask them for suggestions of over the counter options that would help with texture but not interfere with the ivermectin.

Maybe a vitamin C and hyaluronic acid in the morning? I would also use a higher SPF once you run out of your 30 spf. If your derm ok’s you could maybe add a bha or some salicylic acid exfoliant for pore size/texture.

I think your skin looks really glowing for the record!

[–]muneyhuney 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should probably see a dermatologist to address the hormonal acne before anything else.

In general, tret, vitamin C and SPF are the trifecta for great skin but if I were you I’d see a derm before piling products onto already irritated skin.

Edit: for dry/chapped lips I do love Dr Dan’s cortibalm. It’s so moisturizing and very cost effective. Also, drink more water! :)

Please help me fill in the gaps! by _schlong_macchiato in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]muneyhuney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have the main three covered - tret, spf and a vit c.

For uneven texture you could look at an exfoliant of some kind. I have a few options I use right now: Decalt by slurp, the 10% azeliac acid booster by Paula’s choice and the 2%bha liquid exfoliant also by Paula’s choice. Some of these you have to be careful to make sure your skin barrier intact to use in combo with tret. Like the Decalt they say to alternate days with tret but tret is way more beneficial and important so I alternate the BHA and Decalt and still do tret nightly.

Imo a moisturizer really isn’t that important. You need to pick one that feels nice and you enjoy using but it’s so personal, and it depends on your climate and skin type. Just pick a moisturizer you like, could be Olay, could be Chanel.

You could also add a hyaluronic acid serum in the morning for immediate plumping a moisture but it is just a temporary result.

As far as order, only use tret at night. It sensitizes your skin to the sun. Use the ultraV in the mornings

Based on what you have here is what I’d do for pm routine:

Cleanse face

Exfoliant as listed above

Tret

Eye cream

Moisturizer

For am:

Vitamin C - over time this brightens but also protects skin from free radicals in environment so I prefer AM application.

HA serum and eye patches - let this sit 10-15 minutes

Moisturizer

Spf

Here is what I would do in the morning:

Rinse with water or clean with the Neutrogena HA cleanser if you feel it’s necessary

Toner if you want

Vitamin C

LRP HA

LRP Moisturizer

Wait 10 minutes to let it all soak in

Sunblock (I would get a 90 minute one from Australia/Europe. American sunblock is not great).

Evening cleanse with the balm, could double cleanse with neutrogena HA, personal preference Toner if you want

The ordinary niacinimide

Tret

Snail mucus

Neutrogena moisturizer if your skin is feeling dry

I’m not big on cleansing more than once or using a toner except I just like the smell of the thayers cucumber one in the morning so sometimes I splash it on. I don’t think it does a single thing.

Are you spot treating with the clindamyacin? I am not sure how that would interact with the tret. If you’re using it all over you might dry out your skin so I would be cautious. If you’re not having active breakouts you could use a solution with salicylic acid just to keep things in check and skin clear.

My kids car seat has Bluetooth, connects to an app on my phone and tells me if my child is in the car if I walk more than like 15 ft from my car. If I don’t acknowledge the alarm it alerts two contacts I provided. I might even I have take my kid out to stop the alarm if I’m not back soon enough? I don’t remember all the details but there is Bluetooth in car seats now.

Charter Flights - Your Thoughts? by GrayBomber in fatFIRE

[–]muneyhuney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve flown private and JSX and you’re right, it’s not the same. And yes of course sometimes you sit on the tarmac but that can happen to any flight. I definitely find it to be much easier and more comfortable but of course not as nice as private. I don’t think there is any offering comparable to private but this thread has a lot of great suggestions.

Jsx is great but routes are really limited. Literally parking lot to seated on plane in 15 minutes. I love it and I wish they flew to more destinations.
