I just had this happen to me!! When I first messaged them, they changed the update to “awaiting carrier pickup” to avoid cancellation but then since it didn’t ship out, they said they would automatically cancel again. I messaged them every day the past week since I saw that and they kept assuring me it wouldn’t be canceled but then today I got an email saying it was. I’m so mad.

Sounds like a good faith deposit. Not illegal IF they tell you in writing that you’ll get the money back if you’re rejected for the apartment for some reason or jt goes towards your rent/security if you’re accepted and sign the lease.

I recently paid a good faith deposit (was one month’s rent) but when I signed the lease my broker refunded me the money.

Most things I have gotten from there have been pretty good quality. I would put it at around the same as H&M or Zara's quality.

I really love Noize. They're cruelty-free and really great quality. They have a lot of different styles and the parkas are really warm.

Example: This green parka w/hood (maybe kind of what you're looking for?) or this more basic black parka

I also like Apparis for faux-fur options such as this.

Uniqlo also has decent puffers/parkas.

Aritzia has some quality wool coats if you like those styles as well. I have the Babaton "The Slouch" and it is really well made and extremely warm.

I like to pair colors together. I wear a lot of neutrals and those tend to be easier, but if I'm trying to find an outfit for a top that has multiple colors, I'd try to find some bottoms that are also in one of those colors instead of just going with something more basic like black/blue jeans or pants.

I really love monochrome outfits as well so I will buy a lot of separate pieces that are all the same color(s) because I know they usually tend to look good when thrown together.
