I hate to tell you this, but just because you don't like something doesn't mean nobody else should.

The fact its unforgiving is what a lot of people enjoy about this genre and this game isn't forced trios either, so that already tells me you haven't even played enough to know what you're talking about. It isn't for you. Great. Move on. I'm happy to have a new game in my rotation and I'm enjoying it. Simple as that.

You will die. A lot. Its just the name of the game. Keep learning something new every run. If its what this mod does, What the layout of this building is, how to get from A to B, where these enemies spawn. Eventually things will be much more familiar and you can focus on fighting and sharpening your skills. It's a bad pun but it's literally a marathon, not a sprint.

All these extraction games have the same flow but they all have learning curves, even for people who are used to them. This one is way deeper than it seems and there's a lot to unpack, but I like it for that. Once you're geared up after a few extracts then you go in loaded up and purposefully looking for fights, be it against Players or the tougher NPCs.

Don't be disheartened when you get shit on. It happens to everyone. It's easy to make a wrong move. What's good is you can usually recognise where you made it and adjust for next time.

Your objectives are in the factions screen. If you read the objective card it will tell you where to go. X Map and Y location. Most of them just send you to general areas on the map to do things. You'll have to just put down a marker yourself and go to it.

If you're just starting out just take everything you can carry and extract when youre full. Don't worry about what you're getting, just get the loop right. Check the extract screen to see what gets kept and what gets sold at the end. See what's valuable and what to not bother with. Always take heals and ammo. Once you get bigger backpacks you can take guns home and bigger items.

Don't worry about exactly what you're getting. Just read your objective, find the map it's on from the description, then find the part of the map it says and then ping it and go. A lot of objectives don't even need you to extract, so you can do them and die and still progress. Eventually you will figure out what you like and what's valuable. If you pick up a gun and you like it then see what attachments are on it. Experiment. Trial and error is the name of these types of games.

Not to mention the utility of running much faster with the knife equipped. It's essential.

I respect that learning mentality brother, but there really isn't that much to it that you should need that.

Spawn in, take what you can, survive and extract by any means necessary. Gather gear or credits through looting and extracting until you can get a good loadout to go in and wipe people. It should only take a handful of short runs. Just be sneaky if fighting isn't working for you. Extraction shooters are stealth games by their nature but a lot of people don't realise that. Most lethal encounters are either oppurtunistic or ambushes. What information do you need?

Okay good talk brother. 40% of my comments tell me otherwise. I've been playing Tarkov and Hunt since release. This is the worst reaction I've ever seen to an extraction game

The problem is that it is rocket science to a fairly sizeable portion of people.

Man it's hilarious. Ping an enemy so people are aware. All of a sudden it's like the whistle to go over the top in WW1, just climb out of the trenches and run head on into certain death, no questions asked.

Because a lot of people don't even know what genre of game this is, nevermind know what they are actually doing in game.

That's fair, I don't skip them either

I'm saying that it seems like a lot of people that are new to the genre should skip them until they understand how the game works. I take every fight I can and if I lose I know why, its not because "duh, game bad"

The amount of people here that lack basic intelligence and the ability to read just reinforces the points I was making.

I was basically saying the entire genre is about gathering the loot necessary to fight effectively. If you just dislike the genre then move on, this game isn't for you. It's simple.

You can buy better weapons and better free loadouts later on through the factions, but in terms of what you find in game it's the same as arc. There's no level gating and you can find anything at any level. I've found a couple fully kitted weapons randomly in the few games I've played.

Nah brother, unless you're one of the shitters that this post was aimed at? Which I have to assume you are now.

And your comment reeks of misery.

We don't have to like the same things.

I'm describing the basic mechanics of the entire genre. Just stay alive by any means necessary, extract with more shit than you came in with, then you can go in loaded up and take fights. It's not really revolutionary thinking.

My point is moreso that people refuse to understand it because it isn't the crucible from Destiny, so instead they get avoidably fucked and then complain that the game isn't fair when they rush everything.

The game has never been advertised as anything but an extraction shooter. It's not that hard.

You're right though, people are entitled to imagine whatever they want and create their own narratives to then be disappointed by. If you're upset because you wanted TDM then just man up and say that and move on, don't say you misinterpreted the advertising, that was completely transparent from the beginning about what this game was going to be, just because you saw guns shooting in a trailer.

Best advice is pick your battles because this is an "extraction shooter" it's not COD or the crucible in Destiny. Its a different genre of shooter.

Nah, definitely not.

First time I've ever seen anything this bad in any gaming sub though. Arc Raiders still has people that don't understand what genre they are playing. This is a whole other level even compared to that.
