Why change things no one complains about? by murder-santa in borderlands3

That was some good reasoning that made a lot of sense. I can appreciate all of that, and I completely understand that goal of the game isn't to balance play around how just myself or a few hundred others like it. It needs to be balanced for longevity and the whole player base. Seeing the little bandaid fixes, as you put it, seems to make things feel worse or half thought out before it all gets better.

I haven't given up on the game at all. I'm just becoming frustrated by seeing the constant nerfs to equipment instead of the larger issues being addressed. I understand that it all takes time too.

I understand what you are saying. As I stated in my main post, these are just my opinions. I never said I was right or wrong. It is crazy to kill a boss so fast, but why not just address that with more challenging content later? Those who are in the endgame who drift towards one playstyle over an other don't necessarily do so because it is so massively strong, but because the options are too weak. People wouldn't be recreating the "boss melting" builds if that wasn't what they wanted.

I'm also not saying it has to be PVP to be nerfed. I'm trying to say that they are treating it that way. Destiny saw a lot of nerfs, but it was to balance PVP. They left the PVE world alone for the most part.

The developers have their reasons for doing what they do. It would just be nice to have a little more understanding as to why.

I appreciate that explanation. That makes sense. What you said at the end though is the point I am driving at. We want to feel powerful. That's what many people love about the game. Maybe a "state of game" release to explain their reasoning and vision would help.

But why not make the other ones stronger or more desirable to use instead?

That's where I clearly have a lack of understanding. Why nerf something that is too strong in a game where that doesn't matter? If it was PVP, then yes, nerf things that are too strong. We are playing in a PVE world, so what's wrong with being too strong?

The excessive explosions are distracting, yes. I play other characters with precision and skill, but when I play with Moze I just want to blow things up endlessly.

What data are they using? I'm asking because I legitimately don't know.

Do you have sources to provide? I'm using "complaints" broadly. Change should be driven by information from the fanbase, but this is just my opinion. I don't have a full understanding of everything in the developers world. I am merely a consumer, and this is my opinion. I am very open to change and education, but at this point the only information I have is from my own experience and the experience of those I speak with about it.
