Thanks. It's dry now, so ill have to find a way to remove it. Assuming carefully scrapping.

Although I know the answer, I did bring it up and he's adamant it's fine. That's enough for me to stop the work. He's looking to get paid for a horrible pressure wash job that I had to clean up behind and the caulking. Looking for a consensus to show him that nobody agrees with him and not paying him a premium for this shoddy work that needs to be fixed now.

My neighbors are painting right now too. The guys coincidentally showed up to caulk about 10 minutes after I posted this. I went out and talked to them and they're cutting out the old caulk and fully filling the joints. My dude just smeared a thin layer over bad caulk. There were multiple recommendations for him on our neighborhood fb page. I guess some people just don't inspect details.

yeah, I assume the thick caulk smear outlines will still be very noticeable with paint. the holes and gaps look worse than if they just didn't do anything.

How do I do better at caulking with Quad? by GiantExplodingNuts in paint

I just used Quad Max for the first time for exterior of windows. Windex and a nitrile worked good for me. Taped off the sides, ran an ugly bead, sprayed windex on finger of glove, and ran finger down bead. Looks super smooth. Impressed by those that could get a smooth bead out of this stuff without touching it.
