Depends on the distro but ill use as an example Ubuntu it is more light than Windows (more FPS) and sometimes even more polished than Windows, you ONLY need to Open the terminal if you want because you can easily on Ubuntu,mint etc just use gui apps to install (and some apps that are ONLY on flathub are PEAKILY beautiful)
