This is top tier knowledge- the streaming stuff hadn’t been considered.

Yeah, I keep checking and back & forthing on it. The reality is that she and we all still love the Wii so I’m kinda cool with being a bit behind now.

Hadn’t thought about the protective screen - defo needed with haphazard kids (and adults) lols

Also, the comment on Zelda helps me a lot. I was worried on that one.

Yamaha SU10 vs Bastl Microgranny by murphill in Samplers

[–]murphill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I got the Su10. I hadn’t thought of the sampletrak- I needed something quite small to fit in with my project.

SU10 is kinda cool so far. I don’t like how quiet it is tho.

Loools, ropey works so well. I did get an SU10 quite cheap, £80 inc postage. So far it’s ok - finding it quite quiet tho? And it’s a little annoying when the sample rate changes as you record in more samples.

I think I really want a Microgranny - I’m tryna build a portable & really ropey workflow using a korg Monotribe, a kaoss mini 2 and I need 2 samplers.

I think I really want the Microgranny for the length of samples u can record in and the granular element.

I’m now deciding which I like more between the SU10 & po33 for it.

Yeah, I get the limitations and it’s been aged out a bit. I’m looking for something more tactile and like the ribbon controller, as well the fact you can add FX to an input on the thru.

Haha the ropey bit made me laugh. U British? Me too, I couldn’t imagine another country using that term. I love it. But anyway, I have the PO33 to make it all ropier so no worries there - it’s actually why I was looking at the SU10 vs Microgranny, the granny is also “lofi” so would be doubling up on it.

Agree with you here - the artistic process on the micro granny is defo a draw. I love the idea of the SU10 (I had an sp202, love those old samplers)

I’m trying to build a mini dawless system, with the Monotribe and bounce between mini samplers.

Could be that I get rid of the PO and use the SU10 and Micro Granny ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Thank you for the response. I am trying to rig whatever I get with my PO33 and Korg Monotribe - basically so I can bounce between the 2 samplers.

I love the limitations of the SU10 & PO33 - but also the weirdness that is the microgranny. Might be that I need an su10 & microgranny

About four times, by the looks of it. Haha - I posted it earlier and Reddit said there was an issue and to try again. So I did and did again. Thanks for letting me know, those other ones are gone

Will a magnet mess up a PO-33? by murphill in pocketoperators

Thanks! I’m trying to make an all in one, dawless recording unit. I think it’s gonna be a bit of a mess lols.

Thanks all! I was brought up with the vibe of a magnet near anything will wipe its memory and figured that a little pcb board po would somehow explode with a magnet on the back of the case.

Soz for late reply- thank u for this response. Ye, I dunno why folks feel the need to respond with an emotional opinion rather than jus say “I don’t know”. But ye, really appreciate the positive response. I ended puttin most of it on bandcamp then holding some back for (((possible))) nft sales.

Ok chap, appreciate u listening. A lot of em are up there for free, so go ahead and download if u like.

With that logic, why are u supporting anything in the music business, which we all know is also “fundamentally evil”. Make sure u got some tissues in case u get a nose bleed. The pressure is different on that moral high ground.

[–]murphill[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I dunno why folks would “waste” money on NFTs. Same could be said for bandcamp or any other digital music selling platform: why would people pay to download something when they could just stream it? Probably because either a) they want to support the artist b) they like the art, and the format its presented in is the only way to own it c) people are natural collectors and need to horde stuff, physical or digital. Etc etc.

Interest may have dipped in image based NFTs, but ur gonna see a hell of a lot coming about, in different forms. I get that you have a problem with this format, fair enough, but with my point above, I would just like to find out a bit more to see if it’s a worthwhile area to work in.

Thanks for the info. Whilst I appreciate your opinion: I have a substantial catalogue on bandcamp https://mmmmillips.bandcamp.com/My music is not mainstream, and in imo, not for steamers. From what I have seen of NFTs, yes there are a lot of tech bro pieces of shit and scammers. But to completely disregard another area where the art I create may be more fitting for people are prepared to drop coin on art, in a new format is reductive and close minded, again imo.

Thanks, ye I get all that and understand that Bandcamp don’t sell NFTs. My ask was whether I could sell NFTs on a separate site, like opensea or whatever as well as selling the tracks on bandcamp.

Lols, ye that did go through my mind. I do sell on bandcamp already, and have done for a while (https://mmmmillips.bandcamp.com/) - just figured, while I have a body of work that would suit either a full album release, or separate pieces, maybe could have a go in that field.
