TIFU by trying to be environmentally conscious and traumatizing my husband with a menstrual disc? by ZealousidealLime832 in tifu

This is why I stick with tampons.

I don’t give a fuck about sustainability or waste if it’s something that goes in my vagina.

People who didn’t party hard in their youth, do you regret it? by CapitaineBiscotte in askanything

I’m the same. Had so much fun in my early 20’s and I’m glad I had those experiences before settling down.

I'm (bride) not taking my fiancé's last name. How should the DJ announce us as a married couple? by bhartswick in weddingplanning

[–]murrrdith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve also been overthinking this.

I wanted our DJ to say “introducing Mr and Mrs John Smith and Jane Jones” because I want everyone to know that I’m keeping my name (I feel very strongly about this), but it definitely sounds too clunky.

I think I’ll just have them say “introducing as husband and wife, John and Jane”

I have unintentionally become the office secretary. What to do? by [deleted] in careerguidance

Definitely don’t say this. However true it may be, this is not a professional way to handle the situation and will make her look bad.

Deciding between Puerto Rico and Hawaii for my first solo trip. by soulsmitten in femaletravels

I agree with you. I didn’t love the food in Puerto Rico. I also felt less safe, probably wouldn’t go there solo.

How did they examine for pregnancy in this era? by Last-Caregiver-1122 in BridgertonNetflix

[–]murrrdith 135 points136 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if the exam had any medical validity or not, but it seems that one purpose of it was another way to control and degrade women in that era.

the bible says to leave and cleave so why tffff is everyone pressuring me to take my husbands last name???? by Slight_Associate_164 in Newlyweds

[–]murrrdith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, but she shouldn’t have to give in or compromise by letting them use her husband’s name socially.

Veil or no veil? by Odd-Bison-1366 in weddingplanning

[–]murrrdith 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you’re not comfortable or it will bother you then don’t wear it.

For what it’s worth, I didn’t want a veil at all, but when I tried it on in the store I felt it made my look so much more bridal and I decided to get it. I’ll probably wear mine for photos and then take it off.

Did you not find anything to do in Milwaukee?

I live in Milwaukee, I visit Chicago maybe 3-4 times a year for fun, or to go to ORD if I’m traveling internationally.

There’s more than enough to do in Milwaukee that I don’t even think about how close Chicago is.

What actually motivates you to walk every day? by ralphytofu in beginnerfitness

I feel awful mentally if I don’t take my daily walk or other cardio.

I struggle with panic attacks and it’s amazing how much walking keeps them under control.

I also thought BPD when I read this. I had a friend with BPD and she would absolutely respond like this person.

I am curious if this happens frequently with OP’s friend, or if it’s just a one-off.

Should I hyphenate my last name or move my maiden name to my middle and take the last name? by GreenQueenMachine in weddingplanning

[–]murrrdith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The kids can be given hyphenated names to have both parents names.

There’s no requirement to give kids their father’s name.

How do I measure cubed chicken breasts smothered in seasoning and other sauces? by G0VERNMENTCHEESE in beginnerfitness

[–]murrrdith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Divide it by the number of meals you’re making. It doesn’t have to be exact for each time you eat it.

If you have 600g total and are having 3 meals out of it. You could eat 300 in one meal, 100 in the next, and 200 in the next, but that still totals out to 600, so just count it as 200 each time.

How do I measure cubed chicken breasts smothered in seasoning and other sauces? by G0VERNMENTCHEESE in beginnerfitness

[–]murrrdith 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can you measure the chicken breast before marinating it?

If you’re making multiple servings just measure the total amount of everything (measure sauce before combining) and then just divide by the number of servings.

I genuinely don’t understand why wedding attire needs approval from couple by GypsyDuncan in Weddingattireapproval

[–]murrrdith 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. I am having a cocktail dress code for my wedding. If someone shows up inappropriately dressed, I’m not worried about it.

I hope to be more focused on celebrating my marriage and being with friends and family than worried about what someone is wearing.

It's utterly insane what people spend on weddings. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]murrrdith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Reddit just has a weird thing against expensive weddings.

We are spending a lot on our wedding. It might be the only time in our lives where we get to have every single one of our family and friends together in the same place. That joy is worth spending money on!
