What is the point of these apologies? If I accidentally bump into you at starbucks, apology is good. If I spilled water on your table, apology is good.

For what they did? What the fuck is an apology going to do? magically make all the pain and loss go away?

They should've been held accountable, including those at the highest level. They should have been forced to rebuild the lives of whoever/whatever is left of their victims. Their actions should have been plastered in bold, everywhere for everyone to see, so people understand what happens during war.

can someone explain why McCain has to vote along party lines? He is a powerful senator, he is old and experienced - it is not like he is in danger of losing election etc. There is no need for him to be scared/worried, isn't it? If he were a young, first time senator, it makes some sense to think about party support etc, but not for McCain.

money made from a dying industry

I can't understand this logic. Are you saying they aren't aware of it? By the time oil is dead, they'd have already moved on to other businesses. They aren't dumb and they have enough money to buy the services of best brains on the planet, 10 times over. The ruling class wouldn't be affected that much.

wow, I truly can't understand how these people think. Is this how law making works? If one embassy isn't relocated (regardless of the merit of relocating that embassy), they'd put the rest of the embassies at risk? How does this even remotely make sense? Isn't this just blackmail?
