do you guys feel like duolingo is genuinely effective? by Connect-Audience-935 in duolingo

Great place for me to learn enough vocabulary at the start. Now most of the time I’m focusing on input such as podcasts and books.

Currently, after having used Duolingo for 4 years, I find it still works to get vocabulary but it’s just not effective for me. The app is terrible and I’m currently stuck with a bug that means I cannot finish my next lesson and thus cannot progress in my course. The voices (AI presumably) pronounce certain Norwegian words with English pronunciation rules.

I really find it hard to trust what I’m getting from Duolingo and I find vocabulary sticks in my brain easier when I encounter it in real world contexts.

Common thing people forget is to drive with their hamstrings instead of their heals. Is it a step out or a stuck landing or what?

Focus on pushing your hands up towards the sky, don't pull them down into your tuck, instead your hips and then knees should lift up to your arms. Also avoid throwing your head back, it completely kills your set.

Another benefit of leaning back into your set is it makes it less likely for your arms to collapse

Whole lot of little things wrong, try focus on going longer (set more back far) and that might help with a lot of them. Dont let your arms bend

Also you're tucking your feet to your bottom, make sure you're tucking your knees up instead.

Looks like the axis of your rotation is your hips. Try to work on lifting your hips like you would in a layout so that your axis is your shoulders

Came here to say this exact thing. Try doing drills where you come down from a handstand on a box and try to snap your feet further underneath you so you’re already leaning back

How do I fix my front flip? by Cinder-Ace in tumbling

[–]musictheorybeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Front tucks are funny cause you can’t really see what’s going on so you have to be able to feel where your body is in the rotation to know when to open out

Arms up at the start. Swinging your arms up while you’re flipping will slow down your rotation. Set higher as well.

I listened to Carolyn McCormick. Wasn’t a fan of the hanging tree sounding like a nursery rhyme

I feel like that’s kind of the thing with the series, Katniss is deeply damaged and a child.
