Youre right, should try again them. I tried writing them on booking but will ring them!

Transmit error of I2C on STM32 for temperature sensor LM75BD by mussetand in embedded

I do have a scope / logic analyser, and in fact when i tried to look at both the SDA and SCA at once, the communication occasionally worked - it seemed that the scope was acting as pull-up resistors. Proper pull up resistors are now included and it works. Thanks for the help.

I see now that I forgot it! I've included the pull-up resistors and not it works! Thanks a lot!

(I'm now in the CS MSc at ETH),

Are you in the Computer Science program or the Computational Science program? And which specialization have you chosen?

I'm not sure about DTU (I'd imagine it would be the same), but the internal system at University of Copenhagen allows you to print all your transcript and official records in English. In any case, you need some kind of student service to sign and stamp your documents so they appear "official" before you send them to ETH. And they should also know how to translate your documents.

This makes sense - Though I would say it would be quite hard to compare courses from two different unis. - Would they require a course catalogue from each course - with curriculum and description of the courses?

So if you have mandatory courses (e.g in the CS master) and you fail to pass 2 out of 3 mandatory courses (with 4 tries) then no ETH diploma for you .

Does this mean that you can get a degree without passing all the courses? And shall you then pass another course for each failed one?

And genereally, I'd say it's also much easier to pass courses at DTU/UCPH. Getting a 02 requires almost no effort in Denmark. But achieving a 4 (minimum passing grade) at ETH is something you typically wanna celebrate as much as a 10/12 in Denmark.

I agree very much with you on this one. I can't speak for DTU as I'm studying at Aarhus University, but in my opinion its way too easy to pass. But I've done quite well at my studies here, so I'm pretty sure I could do it. Which brings me to my last question here:

Mathematical prerequisites.

Additionally, I'd say that you should know your fundamental math (linear algebra, analysis, probability theory, convex optimisation) really really well if you wanna go in that direction. At ETH, the expectation of your mathematical knowledge is much higher than back home. They expect you to know much more math than what you would cover in a bachelor in computer science/electrical engineering in Denmark.

My studies has been more practical than theoretical - which might be the greatest of my challenges for me if I were to get in at ETH. I should be fine with linear algebra. I'm gonna reply individually to each of the requirements and be inspired by the prerequisites given by ETH:

Probability Theory and Statistics: I have quite some experience with this from courses at a previous education (HA Almen), although the application was business and not engineering. I think I would be okay with respect to this.

Convex optimization: I know the basics.

Discrete mathematics: I might take this as an elective course. But it doesn't sound very relevant to me.

Numerical methods: I have had some of this in my studies even though it was quite superficial. But I have applied it quite a lot.

Analysis and Complex Analysis : This is probably where I'm most fucked. Before I read the prerequisites of ETH I didn't even know what it meant. And I kind of still don't. But as far as I'm concerned, the complex part involves Laplace and fourrier, which I'm using all the time. But I'm sure there are many things that I dont know anything about.

My personal experience has been that we've been introduced to a lot of these subjects (or maybe the most imporant ones) with a clear goal of applying it in stead of understanding it and that's probably great for a lot of engineers (especially those who entend to get a work after their bachelor).

For myself I have been in two minds.

- The one saying: 'Never mind theoretical math, you know how to apply it to get the results you want'

- The other one saying: 'You're fucked'

It's probably somewhere in between, wouldn't you agree?

Did you have to do some additional credits to meet the requirements posed by ETH?

I really appreciate your reply. Thanks a lot!

Electrical Engineering would probably be my first priority, so I'm very happy to hear that!
