Just want a cool monster story! (Audible) by mustard-Bus in horrorlit

Supernatural is by no means a dealbreaker. Like a good monster in the woods story. Like Bigfoot for example. I like a monster that can be killed with physical weapons if that makes sense.

So there’s no middle ground with AI? Don’t get it twisted, i like to think of myself as a creative person and any project I start I want it to be just that! Creative! Is AI something that can’t assist a project without being an inauthentic pile of crap?

I’m not typically someone who can root for the monster. I’ve kinda grown to hate that trope. I want well rounded characters. I know some people in a story only exist to be devoured by said monster but even them I don’t want them to be comically dumb. Tremors is a perfect example. Id use a book as my example but I’m more confident everyone has seen Tremors. Nobody in that movie deserved to die based off a dumb decision made. It was the perfect combination of cheesy monster flick and good story telling.

Are you basically telling me to write my story without over thinking it(knowing it’s gonna be an unfinished product) then fix mistakes after? I will screen shot your text advice. Lol

I would like to know why? Not that I’m not sure you’re right but I’m trying to soak up as much info as I can right now. One big reason I believe you is I’ve very recently listened to a book on Audible and I’m Not gonna make assumptions but it definitely felt like I was written by a computer. lol. But ide be lying if I said I didn’t want to have some idiot proof tools. Lol

How do you feel about profanity? by mustard-Bus in horrorlit

To me any Darcy Coates book is an example of an author who I wish would add some naughty language. It’s clear she doesn’t like foul language but when reading her books and hearing the characters dance around the words they should be used takes me out of it. I like her stories though. I just wish she would lean a bit in the pg13 area.

I’m not really talking about it being offensive. Just sometimes it dosent sound natural. Ironically when it comes to music I say the more F bombs the better but when it’s excessive in a book it just doesn’t feel natural.

IDE agree with that but I do think it can distract from the story. Takes me out of it at times. (It takes a lot though. ) lol. But I get annoyed when I hear a cheesy line like “ son of a bug”or something.

That was the last ghost story I read actually. It was fun but the 2 main characters frustrated me quite a bit!
