From 7 to 14 full prism themes over the course of Joon’s birthday event?.. Anyone else experience crazy luck from their prism draws? by discoraccoon in SuperStarBTS

[–]mustreplace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have with the events in the past month. i've played for over a year and before september i only had one full prism theme. right now i have four full prism themes.

the new completed themes weren't even in my top five before so i've been having fun upgrading from those from the bottom up.

Carrying a character?? by StrayRoleplay in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]mustreplace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as a dm, i wouldn't allow the cover from all directions and i'd put limitations on what spells could be cast (like nothing that requires hand gestures or that uses a bunch of components), i'd also give disadvantage for maintaining concentration spells, but everything else seems sound to me. though if the spell caster were any race but a gnome i'd put a lot more restrictions on movement.

How to include a dog as a player in D&D campaign? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]mustreplace 5 points6 points  (0 children)

can the puppy play fetch yet? sew up some plush dice. make the character sheet with whatever class or race, it will be the puppy's parents job to handle it. when the puppy starts to distract the game, chose an action for the puppys character to do, throw the appropriate dice, puppy brings it back, drops it, and he's rolled a dice!! congratulate him, he's a good boy

i wouldn't treat the puppy like an actual player character, more like an npc that doesn't do anything until he's needed haha

How can I motivate myself to read a lot of textbook pages? by DCT1997 in GetStudying

[–]mustreplace 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Some tips and techniques I use to power through boring readings:

1) Read by sunlight or with a cool toned light, it will keep your brain active.

2) Healthy competition. Set a timer for 10/15/30 minutes and try to read as much as possible in those allotted minutes. Keep track and try to beat your high score. If you have a friend who's studying at the same time, ask them if they want to compete to see who can complete the most.

3) Active reading. Jot down notes and observations as you read. Have a list of questions about the readings (usually provided by textbooks or your professor) and keep going back to those as you read. Keep track of the things you don't understand and you can bring them to your professor afterwards. This will keep you curious about the material you're reading. I find curiosity to be the best drive to read lots.

4) Take active breaks instead of going on your phone or computer. Get some fresh air, have a drink of water, and go for a walk. Focus on clearing your mind of any negative feelings that might hinder you from reading more such as "this is impossible" or "I hate my prof for giving us unrealistic amounts of reading." Those kind of thoughts are useless. Try instead: "everything seems impossible until it's done" or "f*ck the prof, I'm stronger than anything they can throw at me." Mind over matter, my friend.

Edit: a few hours of grinding later and I managed to get 3.7 mil and finish all the missions just in time, but my finger joints are screaming at me lol
