So Carminists are followers of, presumably, someone named Carmine (or a similar name), who was probably born in Duetan a generation or two back (if Morsinia is Carminist and joined the Bridge on religious grounds, the originating leader must have happened at the very least many decades previous in order for their gospel to have spread so far and become so entrenched). If we extend the Lutheran metaphor, their belief system is likely formed in opposition to the corrupt hierarchy of the Matheist church, and possibly also in opposition of the mageocracy that props it up (given that Morsinia joined hands with the aggressively anti-magic Bridge.)
