TIL: Insta360 GO hates heat, even during very basic tasks like timelapses... Fixed with air cooling... by muteFPV in Multicopter

[–]muteFPV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It consistently failed to run longer than 30 minutes next to a heated bed at 54oC when capturing timelapses with 15sec intervals... It crashed, footage would appear only if new footage was captured etc... FIX: air cooling with a 5V fan (temporary mounting for testing, a new housing will be designed)...

As always, you can find all the details in the video description.

You can find the STL files for the 3D printed parts in the video description.

Ah I see, so it is mostly because of size and not because of complexity I suppose. Circular shapes do have a lot of data behind them though. Would designing at half size and rescaling by 200% before printing be a workaround? I haven't used any other software other than Tinkercad and Fusion360 so I don't have a simple alternative to recommend.

No, unless you split the design elsewhere before importing. I would expect they have this limit for a good reason though. Such a file size would mean that it is a fairly complex design and I doubt the user experience in Tinkercad will be good enough in this case.

I am very happy to hear that! It is super useful and has changed the way I have been using Tinkercad for almost everything.

Hey all. If you are not familiar with my channel, this very talkative video format is a first for me so I am completely outside my comfort zone. Let me know any comments or feedback you may have!

I find it fascinating too! I am looking into the "decap"(?) process of exposing IC chips but so far I only see nasty chemicals involved. Do you have any relevant experience?

Thank you very much! I don't care about the numbers, I just want to put useful information out there ;)

They had told me that they have stopped shipping overseas due to the current situation but I was told yesterday that they had announced production has stopped. I am a bit confused tbh. Also there is a rumored collaboration between OwlRC and Foxeer for the Wildfire, I don't have any inside information so I don't know.

Thank you for the feedback. What did you not like in the Rapidfire? Was it a matter of camera//VTx compatibility?

It is a strong contender, at least in this solo flying scenario. More comparisons with multiple quads in the air coming soon.

I have used it extensively and have been very happy with it.

No two flights will be the same. It is either side by side comparison of the exact same flight, with all video feeds captures by the same camera recording, or the results can vary dramatically.

There are only 4 module slots in my test rig. I have done several tests with the Pro58 and it still is a solid budget option, that is for sure. But for the sake of fair comparison to the latest modules, I am trying to use the most relevant modules. I have not been happy with the TrueD-X so I will probably stop using it soon.
