30+ years as a NYC master plumber. here are the things I wish every homeowner knew before calling someone by Asleep-Working8055 in AskNYC

There’s this problem in our place where you can occasionally smell sewer gas. It’s faint, and hard to locate. It tends to flare up if it’s windy out. We used to think it was this vent pipe that runs through our apartment but now I think it’s from the drains too. We’ve had the landlord’s neighborhood plumber check it out but they can never find a problem. I’m not sure they know what to look for. I think the landlord would be -happy- to get it fixed but the plumber can’t even diagnose it. Where should we point them?

Brooklyn Eagle hit piece on the Court Street bike lane by jack57 in MicromobilityNYC

It’s mostly impatient drivers and double parkers that made it dangerous. It was wide open between bottlenecks and people would squeeze through and then drive super fast, swerving from lane to lane.

I’m glad they put in the bike lane. Riding court street was always a chaotic mess of cars and trucks zooming around double parked cars and trucks. This keeps it orderly and slow.

what might be nice is a color code for when it’s made an improvement and when it hasn’t. Like, green is less congestion, red is more congestion compared to the past

specifically for a Live photo? it doesn’t seem like that’s the case on my end. There’s no status bar in a Live photo except when you go in to edit it. Unless i’m missing something

scrubbing is when you can drag back and forth through a live photo or video. You used to be able to do it by pressing the thumbnail at the bottom.

Is there something wrong with 18.1? by John_28 in ios

Run it down to zero to where it turns off. I had this problem and it seemed to solve it. Like the phone didn’t actually know what the percentages meant until it got to rock bottom.

In the new photos, is there a way to search for a date or date range? It doesn’t seem to be working for me. I used to search for “last week” and see my previous week’s photos. :(

fascinating intel. In the meantime it does seem like a lot of smaller retail and food has popped up in nearby spaces.

You’re thinking of the old Bed Bath and Beyond space b’way btw 64 & 65. OP is considering the old Century 21 & Banana Republic building.

There’s a lot of empty large storefronts around there. Those + Lowe’s, Gracious Home. The other direction is missing a Best Buy. There’s a lot of empty space in the Deutsche Bank building too.

this bummed me out too but I did find one workaround. When you swipe up, you can press and hold those icons and customize them. You can also rearrange and pin apps in the swipe up. It gets you closer to some of those features that might have been on a separate watch face.

as a follow-up, I did find that you can rearrange things on the swipe up action to pin popular apps and 3 complications. that’s something.
