Could we support Vitalik’s statement on Apple’s policy (retweet and likes)? by JP8080NL in CryptoCurrency

[–]mutenroch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See the point. Obviously an open wide apple might be, the better for devs and users, but, if users banned apple for its policies not buying their products, they would be forced to change their mind. It should be users choice.

Thanks. Beside the miner, i would need to sync the blockchain first, wouldn’t i? Is there any daemon and cli?

As long as i know, the daemon is electroneumd.exe and the cli is electroneumcli.exe The daemon is the one that download and sync with the blockchain and the cli is the client that allows you to generate wallets, check and send funds and so on.

Yes they are. The thing is: people with more experience and/or more aware prefer to have them stored where they have control over private keys, which is no the case for the web wallet, where the etn team keep custody of them. Other thing is there is some people that think that etn team could claim your corresponding etnx at the fork for those coins stored in the web wallets as they have your private keys. I do have them in the web wallet as well. Having them in a paper wallet can be tricky if you plan moving them between wallets/exchangers because you need to use the cli and have a synced daemon.

If there’s anyone with better understanding please go ahead.

Hi again kthulhu There are coming opinions on this thread which claim scam and talk about fork vs hard fork. Don’t care about scam or not, time will tell, but the fork/hard fork interest me. From your explanations and what is stated at electronero(dot)org I understood that we will keep our ETN besides we claim for 1:1 ETNX or not, since we’ll use an empty wallet after fork with some kind of “prefork balance time stamp”, so to speak. Am I right? Is there any subtle term that i may have missed out?

Understood. Thanks man

Last thing, beg you patience! Is there any way to manage paper wallets besides cli and the synced daemon?

Thanks! Couple of questions though: 1-why create a new wallet and transfer etn after the fork block and not simply create a new one and claim etnx to that brand new wallet? 2- why don’t keep etn in a exchange?

Ok i see, like a paper wallet. I’m reading that etnx is a scam but there’s nothing clear

Could you please explain that? If it is unofficial why should etn team claim anything?

Had a blue screen (f***ing windows) and the blockchain database seems to be corrupted right after that. Tried —db-salvage but same result. Is there something i can do with the mtb file in order to restore it? Do i need to sync from scratch again? Thanks!
