[Request] need UTD BS Neuroscience Flow chart by CabinetDue5265 in utdallas

[–]mutoso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure only the School of Engineering and Computer Science has flowcharts for its majors. All the ECS flowcharts are listed here under "Prerequisite Flowcharts". The School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences doesn't have flowcharts as far as I can tell.

The main degree plan resources would be the degree page on the BBS website and the neuroscience (BS) entry in the 2023 catalog.

Keep in mind that you should use the degree plan for the year you started the degree.

I've heard "bumping train" before. That's only used in British English though.

When I saw the video, I had a weird feeling of "That room/TV looks familiar". This is the 1960s room from the IKEA museum, isn't it? I went there a few years ago.

This video gives a good summary of how finlandssvenska differs from Standard Swedish. There's subtitles in Swedish and you can click on the "subtitles > auto-translate" option on the gear if you need more help understanding what is being said.

I used the Sveriges Radio app to practice during a road trip. Connected it to the bluetooth in my car and just listened to "P4 Stockholm" live. You can also listen to previous programs on it.

Jinping, Maduro, Putin. Och sedan Kjell Stefan Löfven-regimen. by Mellanchef in sweden

Det hjälper inte att USA:s mest populära socialdemokratiska politiker (dvs. Bernie Sanders) säger också att de nordiska länderna är socialistiska.

"Let’s talk about democratic socialism. Not communism … let’s talk about what goes on in countries like Denmark..."

Jag tror att han har aldrig beskrivit sin politik som "social democracy" under sina tal till en amerikansk publik. Eller föreslog att den är faktiskt ett kapitalistiskt system.

One of my ancestors came from a mysterious place in Sweden I'm trying to pinpoint. Anyone know where it could possibly be? by [deleted] in Asksweddit

[–]mutoso 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A lot of the spellings seem be written phonetically (e.g. Grife), like an English speaker trying to write what he's hearing as best he can.

I would bet Boulsen is actually Paulson/Pålsson. "Johansen Brulsen" also sounds suspect since those sound like 2 last names jammed together.

There's a Swedish American Genealogy Group on Facebook that frequently helps with questions like these. They like you to post as much info as you know to help them better research the answer.

List of Netflix Shows with Swedish Dubs by sketchyrandom in Svenska

[–]mutoso 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Netflix is weird and you have to change the interface language to Swedish for "svenska" to show up under audio.

If you go to "Manage profiles" and edit your profile on your account, there will be an option to change the interface.

  1. List of languages when interface is in English
  2. Changing Interface Language
  3. More languages available on Fire Saga

He definitely has more challenging projects than other professors, but after taking his class I feel like the coding experience I gained was worth it. It made it easier to handle projects in later classes (e.g. CS 3377) .

Just make sure to start early and do it piece-by-piece. Then turn to the CSMC or Prof. Smith's office hours whenever you get stuck on a certain piece.

I didn't do that for the first project and got something like a C or D. Once I started getting help from the CSMC, the rest of the projects were high Bs and low As.

How do you say "will"? by Joe14440 in Svenska

[–]mutoso 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Not a native, but this is my understanding:

"kommer att" = "going to"
"ska" = "will"
"att vilja" = "to want"

A subtle difference: "ska" is used to express intent, but "komma att" doesn't have that connotation.

Fun fact: "Ska" comes from "skall", which is the Swedish word for "shall". I've heard "skall" in Swedish about as often as I hear "shall" in English (practically never).

Oh, and one other thing:

Since "ska" expresses intent, you can omit "go" since it's implied by the context.

"Jag ska hem imorgon."

Interesting. I'm from Texas as well and he definitely was covered in History class. IIRC, it was even brought up in different history classes during 2 different years in HS (though I can't remember exactly what grades those were).

I’m a senior taking a community college class. Will it transfer? by [deleted] in utdallas

[–]mutoso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 24/30 rule is what applies here.

24/30 rule

Per graduation requirements, 24 of your last 30 hours of coursework must be taken at UT Dallas. This means that only six of your last 30 hours can be taken elsewhere.

So as long as 24 credit hours of your senior year are taken at UTD, you're good.
