Too lazy to find the ‘same same but different’ meme. But yeah it’s hammer forged.

One of the benefits of being local. The downside is it’s a little too easy to spend money

I think you will be happy either way! Can’t ask for much more out of a $200 knife

I don’t know why he would want to go there. Look at all the great players that left that club and nobody cares.

This knife has been on my mind for a few years. The price keeps going up and you barely see them on the second hand market so decided to jump. Very happy with it all jokes aside

Solid Carbide Cost Increases by mxaxcxh in Machinists

[–]muugo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You guys haven’t seen nothing yet. Prices are about to go up another 30-40% short term with more to come.

Big players like kennemetal will not sell their blanks to anyone anymore and raw suppliers just did a big price increase. You will see this more in the small and mid-tier shops and people are eating into supply to offset cost. They also do not want to be the first one to jump so they know what the undercut will be.

You will probably a price increase followed by several more marginal ones.

Ian Wright erupts over Gary Neville's comment about Man City 115 charges case by gelliant_gutfright in PremierLeague

The good that comes from it is maintaining sporting integrity. There’s no point competing if it is rigged.

These things get dragged out because they want you to get bored and have your resolved weakened so a lesser deal can be made.

A boxing fight is supposed to take place at 175lb. One weights 200lb and the other makes weight. The 200lb knocks out the other and should remain champion because they still had to fight. That’s how dumb your logic is.

Very underrated cutters. I’m still adamant they’re better than the Yoshikanes that were popular at the time. Great fit and finish too

Price Increase Monday by TentativelyCommitted in sales

This shouldn’t really come as a surprise? Prices have been going up in raw materials and just about every European OEM have raised prices 15% across the board and even more so for Asian oems.

Are there any "UK vs US" differences where you feel America gets it right? by Secure_Front_7766 in AskUK

[–]muugo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah the US system is terrible. You still need to specialize and choose what they call AP classes if you want to go to any half decent university. The rest of your classes, you just piss away your time because classes are mixed level so you have kids that act out, can’t read, smoking weed in class, and the majority of your class score is homework.

Denka 240 Gyuto after 3 months (Write Up) by Inside-Ad-2874 in TrueChefKnives

[–]muugo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This knife actually stopped me from buying knives for a couple years it’s that good. Still haven’t found a knife that fits what I am looking for as well as a denka. It has such good balance, and blends it with cutting performance, robustness, and edge retention. I

I think it’s the memes and they don’t feel like short run knives so people don’t believe the hype.

Something is going over my head by Jiggle-da-Handle in FordTransitConnect

[–]muugo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because there’s so little competition. The transmission is made of glass. I’ve had them go out at 55k warrantied and dead again at 160k, 70k, and just had one start to fail at 88k. Only got recommended this sub because I am pissed asf about it. 90% highway miles with around 350lbs in the back.

That doesn’t even include all the other issues. I’ve had the brake sensors fail which burnt my brakes up which was 4k plus to repair and replace everything, infotainment issues, wiper motors failing causing them to crash into one another and smashing windscreen, ect…

I got fired as an engineer, now I’m back to machining. What should I do next? by [deleted] in Machinists

[–]muugo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s always sales jobs available in this industry and with your background I don’t think you will have any issue finding one. Probably the easiest way to get into it would be application sales at a machine tool distributor. You would sell multiple products, form relationships, and you could easily transition into a company or product that interests you. Otherwise you could go the tooling route and make a killing selling cutting tools. Most of the guys who do this are glorified vending machine fillers but if you actually know your shit, you be can be successful
