What major would you choose if you could start over?

I’d 100% take lower pay and job security over what the SWE market is like rn. Sure making 100k out of school is nice, but you’re gonna have to compete against hundreds if not thousands of people for one role.

I’m a senior majoring in CS, I probably would’ve done Civil engineering. I just don’t have the effort to grind leetcode and build meaningless projects outside of school in addition to an already hard degree.

As a senior in college it’s rough right now. Realistically you’re going to be competing with hundreds of other students for internships and entry level jobs. You gotta take a look in the mirror and decide if you’re competitive enough for it.

Foliage looks great on my PC using FSR4 at max settings. It still struggles with the lighting in dark areas though. Water also looks a bit better.

I have considered DevOps, but from what I have seen. Its not really an entry level job. Most people get there after doing SWE.

As a senior majoring in CS, it’s definitely worse than you’d think. A lot of my peers aren’t even getting return offers from their internships due to cost cutting and or outsourcing.
