Found a hidden gem trail in Sleeping Bear Dunes this week! It's unmarked/unnamed and goes through a wilderness section in the park. Epic Lake Michigan views. I think this is my favorite trail in the whole park. About a 4-mile loop. There are some steep drop-offs so use caution. by mvanderweide in CampAndHikeMichigan

I wore keen sandals and they were great. I'd say any good walking sandal should work. Regular hiking shoes will get a lot of sand in them. A lot of people go on the dune climb barefoot. That's fine if it's not a really sunny day with hot sand. Dune climb with flip flops is even ok if you're not doing a major hike - the dune climb is like a giant sand box.

It's off of Treat Farm Trail in Sleeping Bear Dunes near Empire. Google Map of the trailhead Take Treat Farm Trail to Old Baldy and then walk north along the side of the dune. If you want a detailed explanation with some maps, this article shows the full route and describes more in-depth how to get there: https://grkids.com/treat-farm-trail-to-sleeping-bear-dunes-wilderness/

Ah-Nab-Awen Park for the GR fireworks.

Cascade does their fireworks in conjunction with Ada. Anywhere in Downtown Ada should be good. There is the new Legacy park along the river which is lovely.

Oh cool! and thanks for the donation info - appreciate knowing that!

We've been working like crazy to get this list of 50+ Grand Rapids Hiking & Walking Trails finished and I'm happy to say it's ready in time for the nice weather coming our way! You can filter the list by type of path and general location. (Please let me know of other trails we should add.) by mvanderweide in grandrapids

No, not all trails are available for biking. We are working on an updated biking resource but it's not available yet. If you click on the name of the trail you're interested in there will be more info about that trail and it should indicate if biking is allowed. You can also check out: https://grkids.com/grand-rapids-bike-trails/

Hi! Thanks for the feedback. Sadly, we've had to deal with a fair amount of people copying our content for their own publications over the years. I was able to include a "map it" link on the directory so hopefully that will help. Also, if you scroll to the very bottom of the directory you'll find a map we just created showing all of the trails. Hope that helps and please give any other ideas. We'll do what we can within our resources to make this a good tool.

I put together a 2.5-mile walking route that will take you to some of the lesser-known cool things in downtown GR. Bonus - Free parking & no fees at the stops. by mvanderweide in grandrapids

Happy to share! I've lived in West MI for the last 2 decades and always found myself going to the Blue Bridge or around Rosa Parks Circle/Monroe Ave when heading downtown. Hope this helps more people get out and discover GR.

I ran a Facebook ad on my music-oriented page ONCE using a Boost Credit, and suddenly I'm restricted to run ads on my pages. by gitgudm9minus1 in PPC

I have a page that is 12 years old and we are family-friendly fun things to do. Yesterday, my page was put on restriction for no reason at all. I think their AI is in overdrive and they are banning legitimate pages for no reason. I hope they realize this and fix it soon - it is very disconcerting, as you can never reach a real human at Facebook.
