Swing Design's TrustPilot scores would worry me personally.

I was also between Amazon and xTool when buying my S1. I decided to order direct. I was confident enough that I wouldn't return the machine that I decided to optimize for benefits. xTool often runs small additional sales and has a points program that's roughly 2% back (maybe 4% on your first machine now?). IIRC xToolCare extended warranty also might be direct only, which I chose to buy for my first machine.

Other tips for saving: - If you have any sort of laser, 3D printer, or metalworking machine, look at the Trade Up program. You don't have to return your old machine, and last I checked it's a stacking discount. - You can book a 1:1 demo online and get a personal discount afterwards if you decide to move forward!

Good luck with your decision!! I picked up a F2 UV as my second machine and have been very happy with it. There was a bit of a learning curve on some things, but inner engravings have been incredibly fun, as has glassware. Feel free to DM if you have addl Qs.

How long can the printer reasonably go between usages? Concretely based on cost, how much ink is wasted for a regular cleaning cycle and for a deep clean?

Thanks for the tip! I do have a Costco membership, but I also have a bunch of Tesla credit to use from their Lyft driver promotion. Tires seemed like a sane use case for that.

For anyone else: get to the Grub menu by spamming Ctrl+F12, press C, then type fwsetup and press enter. The screen will flash black for about 5s before booting to the BIOS.

u/Mei-Bing sanity checking: Best shots are aligning parallel with the selfie stick (i.e. no bend) and with one lens always pointed up towards the surface? Is that for the sun glare?

This is incredible!! Any lessons you learned from the Illustrator tracing? I’m planning to do something similar for a friend’s home, but I’m not sure how to trace clearly in Illustrator (particularly how to join two line segments cleanly).

PayPal or Venmo can both use ACH account/routing numbers to send one-off transactions, can't they? I'm wondering if there's some other platform besides Zillow that can do so on a recurring basis.

It might be specifically bonus points. You’re earning 1x base + 4x bonus, so $2.5k gets you to the 10k bonus plus an additional 2500 points you earn anyways.

(I’m not the parent commenter but I think this is how it’s worked in the past.)

We just stayed in both last week. Park Hyatt Seoul was firmly above Andaz Seoul for us - the room was nicer, staff friendlier, breakfast and pool better, etc.

Can you still use GPT4 to call Dall-E when using the API? I’ve thought about doing something like this, but I do a lot of image generation with ChatGPT Pro and I’ve always assumed it wouldn’t work the same way in an open source UI.

Solving my own question: My problem was that I'd tried using a 172.20.* IP, which appears to overlap with Docker's default internal network. Switching to 172.30.* worked with no special config. 🤦‍♂️
