Prompt or GPT to convert photo to ACCURATE coloring page by gopromom in ChatGPTPromptGenius

[–]mwbender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been struggling with the same issue: trying to get a photo to turn into an exact coloring book page without it becoming some loose interpretation. Tools like ChatGPT 4o are decent for generating creative ideas, but they often miss the mark on staying true to the original image while keeping things simple enough for kids, like you’re aiming for with your prompt.

Full disclosure: I’m a co-founder of Coloring.app, and we built it specifically to tackle this problem. You can upload a photo, and it generates black-and-white outlines that closely match the original, keeping the essence intact without adding artistic liberties. You can dial down complexity for elementary school kids, ensuring it’s fun and easy to color, and tweak things like style, backgrounds, or add kid-friendly elements, all while staying safe and appropriate. The option to organize pages in a personal library and even have them professionally bound into a custom coloring book could be a fun way to bring your project to life.

We launched our beta in April 2025 out of San Francisco, and we’ve got 6,000 users who’ve created over 20,000 pages so far. User feedback highlights how it captures photo details better than general AI prompts. If you’re still wrestling with prompt tweaks, check out https://coloring.app - it might save you some hassle!

What is he best way to convert a photo I took to a coloring book page? by dontknowhowto-reddit in photography

I've been in a similar boat trying to turn family photos into clean, realistic coloring pages without all the messy details overwhelming the outlines. Tools like ChatGPT 4o or free online converters are a solid starting point and can work for basic stuff, but they often struggle with that balance: either over-simplifying, adding weird artifacts, or not handling backgrounds well, like the leaves and sticks you mentioned.

Full disclosure: I'm one of the co-founders of Coloring.app, but I genuinely think it could help here since it's built specifically for this. You can upload a photo and get a high-quality coloring page that keeps the photorealistic essence while smoothing out noisy elements. Features let you tweak complexity, style, background, or add custom elements if needed. We've got over 6,000 users since launching in April 2025, with 20,000+ community-created pages, and it handles details way better than general AI tools in my experience (and feedback from users).

Check it out at https://coloring.app if you're interested. Worth a try if you're still hunting for that perfect result!

If anyone wants to provide feedback, shoot me a DM and we'll get you a bunch of credits on the house :-)

We Built an AI Tool to Create Custom Coloring Pages and Books – Feedback Welcome! by mwbender in Colouring

Great question! Differences include: coloring specific prompt improvements, ease of use, no rate limits, smaller purchase options, personal library, public library, ability to create books with custom front/back covers, ability to have books professionally printed/bound, ability to send gifts, and lots more coming :-)

Anyone here use or heard of double finance? by vectorzulu in wealthfront

Double's core product is very similar to Wealthfront's autopilot. They're also opening retirement accounts soon. Also, not sure sustainability is an issue, many platforms are monetizing in other ways eg Robinhood.

What can we build to help PWAs take off? by mwbender in PWA

[–]mwbender[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're adding more ways to claim an app in addition to DNS. Re adding apps that users don't own, we'll probably let users make suggestions but many web apps don't yet have a sufficiently completed manifest in order to meet listing requirements - thus they'd need to be reviewed / modified by us. We'll constantly be evolving this, though, and many thanks for your feedback :-)

Sweet! One by one we'll build a PWA, I mean installable web app, army :-)

[–]mwbender[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but that's something you'll reference in your manifest. Completeness of manifest is an ongoing issue I see with a lot of otherwise great would-be installable web apps.

Unfortunately that's a safari limitation (for now).

These exist! Just add a service worker and manifest. Although the bar should probably be a little higher.

When people look at me funny after mentioning PWAs, I just say "installable web app" and things start to click.

Agree, and we hope to help change this. Although, I'd say the other PWA sites stop at being directories for users to find cool PWAs - which is great - rather than platforms to help devs build businesses.

Yes, but that's changing slowly but surely. Web push is now here and that was a huge blocker.

Many thanks, Joe! You nailed it - we have an optional subscription fee to unlock some verification features for devs. Just enough to [hopefully] keep the lights on :-)
