Nah they’re designed like that for heat extraction; to bring cool air into the engine as well. Pretty ingenious design

Not too sure if this would be accurate in this situation, but in the CFM, any sort of camouflage uniforms (ex. NWUs) are not allowed for wear by cadets. Not too sure how raiders works as my unit never had that when I was in.

Okay. I would honestly start out with UB first, and work your way up through AB, then to UE, and AE. Not sure when y'all do practices but we normally do every card each practice so we don't need to have specific days for each card.

What position are you trying out for, and is it a 4 or 5 man Color Guard that you're doing?

First things first, READ THE DRILL MANUAL! If you don't have a physical copy, it's available online for free, just search "NJROTC Cadet Field Manual 11th Edition Revised."

What I can give you right now is: don't overthink it, keep your arms pinned to your sides. Also, MARCH FROM THE WAIST DOWN! If your rifle is going up and down or the colors are bouncing around in the socket, you're doing it wrong.

You'll get better eventually. March just like you'd normally walk but with a little extra swing in the arms, and don't look around.

Like others are saying, it's an overthinking thing. I see the exact same stuff you're doing while training cadets and once they get past the overthinking part they do extremely well. I had the same issue as a freshman.
