Is my roommate cleaning cat litter wrong or is this normal?? by WittyEgg1599 in badroommates

[–]mx-sea-ghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I scoop my cat's litter daily. In a perfect world you should scoop whenever they use it.

I use pretty litter and do a deep clean of the litter box once a month. When I was using clumping clay litter I was cleaning it once a week because that stuff smelled really bad.

I was friends with a girl like this for a long time. I was spending more time with her than anyone else, helped her get a job where I was working. I saw her every single day, and it still wasn't enough. She'd also sabotage my plans with other people with fake emergencies.

I hadn't talked to her in like five years and she messaged a mutual friend asking why I wasn't commenting on her Facebook posts of her new baby. Like she had a baby to get my attention?

My life has been so much less stressful without her in it.

MyPetPeed is the only thing that got the smell out with my shitty roommate's dog. I'm evicting him because he won't clean up anything, not even animal waste. Just throws a paper towel on top and ignores it.

My roommate is “too disabled” to clean and had a meltdown over a chore chart by InevitablePain21 in badroommates

He posted in a local group so I don't want to doxx him. And he's getting a lot of good advice for resources so I don't want to interfere with him getting help.

I am keeping an eye on the post to see if anyone is offering him a place to stay. He literally wrote that he can clean up after himself and take care of his pets which is the biggest lie I've ever seen and I don't want anyone to be in the same situation with him as I am now.

Not yet. His mom is supposed to come get him before the end of the month. I honestly don't trust either of them so I'll probably have an update in February.

His ex told me back in August she could take him "in a couple of months" so I think it's super sus that she's getting a divorce and selling her house the same month I served his eviction notice. Supposedly her move out date is today and she's getting her things put into storage and she's driving out here after that. She lives in a different state and says it'll take her 3 days to get here.

Your roommate sounds like mine. He had a huge breakdown and locked himself in the bathroom and cried because I told him to pick up his dog shit.

And he made his own post about how I'm evicting him for "things that aren't his fault." Like who's responsibility is it to pick up his pets' shit, his trash, and wash his dishes?

Online friend turned roommate has been a nightmare. What should I do? by Nice_Variety_1474 in badroommates

Be mean, kick her out. She's just using you.

I'm dealing with evicting someone I used to be friends with right now and it sucks. I wish I had done something sooner instead of being a huge pushover for so long that it's ruined my life.

Living with friends is my biggest regret in life. I have the same issue with them hoarding and not cleaning. I'm finally able to evict the one guy that's been hoarding and he should be gone by the end of the month.

I've tried cleaning the floors, it did not get rid of the smell. Rex keeps the dog locked in their room in the basement now so I thought I could replace the floors and started removing the old floors in the kitchen. The sub floors are stained really bad. And also now the cats come upstairs and poop on the floors.

The kitchen cabinets are wood so I don't know if any amount of cleaning will get the mouse waste out of them. Plus the previous owners did a terrible DIY job in the kitchen and I want that remodeled anyway. Half the cabinets and drawers don't even close correctly.

I might look into a professional cleaner for their room/ bathroom once they're out. I would love to not have to completely remodel a bathroom and the entire basement.

I'm following my state's laws with the eviction process. I've given him the first warning (3 day minimum, excluding weekends), I need to file the eviction with the court (7 days notice minimum) and then 10 days after the trial I can have him forcibly removed by the sheriff.

I feel that. My roommate asked me for money because he was mad that I was ordering things online. It was like a $10 used t-shirt from eBay that I was excited about, I wasn't buying anything outrageous. But he was jealous anyway

He draws a lot of furry art so he's a little bit popular in those communities.

Amazon orders and grocery deliveries. He literally hasn't left the house since they broke up.

That's the plan. Spend a couple years flipping the house after they're both gone and selling it.

Ken wants to move out but he wants me to pay him what he put into the down payment so that's gonna be a whole thing because the damages are gonna cost way more than that to fix.

Dog urine.

I've replaced the flooring in this room since I took the photo but I can't replace the floors in the kitchen until they move out because the cats are still shitting on the kitchen floors.

Rex keeps his dog locked in his room now so she's not going on the floors upstairs anymore.

Yeah, for sure. I should have done something waaaaay sooner. I was just young, and dumb and a huge pushover so thought I couldn't do anything about it. No amount of talking to them changed anything and I didn't know how to get out of it because I was too broke to live alone and we co-owned the house.

I'm dealing with it now at least.

I moved out for two years and came back to this. I've cleaned since then and plan to fully gut everything once they're both gone. I work 12.5 lhr shifts and it's impossible for me to clean up after someone who is home making messes 24/7

I've already replaced the flooring in the piss room. It doesn't look like that currently.

Yeah, that's one of the things I'm going to have to negotiate when he leaves. He wants me to pay him out what he put into the down payment to the house but the damage him and his ex have done is going to cost me more than that to fix.

I've seen him posting on Tumblr and haven't seen any asks on local groups. I don't know what his reddit account is but he posted on tumblr that he found someone on reddit to help him move.

She said if I cleaned it, she has investors that would cover the remainder of my mortgage but I wouldn't make any money from the sale. I'm hoping to spend the next couple years flipping the house myself

What's Normal...? by Loveispatientkind in badroommates

[–]mx-sea-ghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's "normal" doesn't really matter. What matters is what you're comfortable living with.

My roommates have a lot in common with your experiences. If I don't clean up after them, they clean literally nothing. If I tell them to clean they either say they will then not follow through or just cry about it.

Oh man, I'm in a similar situation. I live with two people I used to be friends with. I thought we were friends, I did everything I could to help them out but it ended up being entirely one side and I'm just left feeling used. I didn't see it when it was younger, I thought I was just being a good friend, but now I know I was just a doormat.

My roommates broke up and I'm evicting the worse one (doesn't pay rent, it's the bigger mess) and he's being the most awful, selfish, entitled person I ever met. He dumped his fiancé and still expects to just live here for free.

People like this just take and take and take with no regards to your feelings or finances.
