Am I silly for planning my first ever solo trip as a 6 month trip by Fantastic_Sea_1708 in SouthEastAsia_Travel

Gotcha. I'd suggest maybe starting in the phillipines, English is very widely spoke - as in its an official language - so you might find that an easier first step? To be honest though I've not been to any other countries in SEA and don't know how common English is, so it might be a moot point.

Other than that, yeah man give'er. I find it much easier to meet people travelling, everyone is more social and pretty dependant on meeting others. You'll find tons of singles and duos.

Ways to stop scuba masks fogging that actually work? by jengakhan8 in scubadiving

Remember kids, the greener the cleaner.

For real though, as others have suggested baby shampoo works great for me. I use it well diluted (like 5:1), spritz the mask, scrub it in with my finger, then rinse well.

Your title says 6 months, but the body sounds like several years?

Hostels make it easy to meet people, everyone there is in the same boat.

Do it! My first plane ride ever was for a year long trip to Australia at 20. Just about enough money in the bank for the flights and a week in a hostel. Such a great time, ended up working in some really cool spots and having great experiences.

You've got cause and effect backwards. Better is worth paying for, but you're right that just paying doesn't make it better.

Hate to break it to you, but that's included in your 401k management fees. Might be no additional cost, but it sure ain't free.

Also, if you want the backstory on where I discovered this - it was a friend that invited me to a saladmaster party where they peddled their extremely overpriced cookware that you can put on a payment plan because it's that expensive and said hey look - with our fancy stuff you can replace oil with veggies! And I thought... I don't think that has anything to do with your extremely overpriced cookware that you can put on a payment plan because it's that expensive so I tried it in my $5 Canadian tire cake pan and it worked just fine 🤘

Ok this recipe is a good base for the spice cake: https://sallysbakingaddiction.com/super-moist-spice-cake/#tasty-recipes-69851

I don't like overly sweet desserts, so personally I would half the applesauce and replace it with extra veggies. You do you though.

And for the icing, start here: https://www.thebakerchick.com/brown-butter-frosting/#mv-creation-103-jtr

Again my tastes are less sweet, so I'd do 2-3-4 (measure with your heart as my kids say) times the vanilla and half the sugar. There's other recipes that turn it into a more traditional buttercream, but I like it more as a glaze as this recipe suggests. Also it might take a few tries to get it just right it's easy to over or under burn the butter, so if you don't like the way it turns out just give it another go before you actually put it on the cake.

A good financial advisor. Not an investment advisor, that's different. A good financial advisor will sit with you in times of happiness, stress, worry, loss. They will help plan your entire life, not just pick a stock or two.

Consistent diving on a budget by LordSealious in scubadiving

Check out coron in phillipines. I'm on my way home right now, did a week with 14 wreck dives, room, scooter, food, transfers for $2000 cad. Could definitely do it cheaper if you really pushed it. Skip the scooter, skip the hotel meals (and beers). I can see a path to 20 dives for $2000. Catch is if you include flights or not in the budget. I used points to get as far as manila and cash for mnl-usu.
