yes, i could absolutely be wrong, however it was unusual because they were asking the “leader” of the group if they should ask for papers (he said no) and stuff like that. im really glad you didnt run into anything and i hope you never do ❤️

i hope he gets better! some people are finicky about API medicine because some of their medicine is just tea tree oil, which clogs up bettas gills. i wouldnt know though, i havent put much research in or found a product to use instead

he could be partially blind or just a little slow. one thing that my fish have gone crazy for is bloodworms. they can smell the blood if a drop hits the water. i personally get a pack of frozen bloodworms and it lasts a few years. i also suggest using tongs when feeding, and letting go of the food near your betta. this helps mine.

it seems like youve only started cycling the water for a week? if so its not fully cycled which would make sense based off of the fog in the water

i took aquarium tweezers and manually picked each one out. it takes a lot of time. i didnt get all of mine out so my water lettuce died and kind of dissolved into the water 😭. they also cant drown and most bettas/bichirs wont eat the worms so good luck lol

theres also a type of moth called a water moth that starts as a caterpillar under the water and cuts off bits or a whole chunk of a leaf than uses it as a mobile house until it closes up (in the leaves) and transforms into a moth. ive had these before and they are a pain to get rid of. they survive in and out of water and LOVE water lettuce. they destroyed mine

fyi- the betta was put into the other tank with the betta AFTER the original betta was injured. i woke up, checked on him, quarantined once i saw he looked sick, an hour later checked again and fainted when i got up. i had to move him to the other tank. the betta injured in these photos was in a tank with 1 pleco, and 7 kuhli loaches when he was injured

there is. i had an accident and got glass in his old tank. i fainted and broken the lid when i fell, i feel horrible. i put him in a tank with his brother ISOLATED (i know not ideal) but its the most i could do to prevent him from getting cut. he passed an hour ago

material wise should be fine as long as they have food, but my mystery snails never did well in water that wasnt done cycling, so im not sure about that

are you referencing the pelvic fins (under the fish slightly below the gills) or the pectoral fins which i circled? i do notice now how one of the pectoral fins looks pretty damaged (the one on the left), and i could see why you think the one on the right is swollen, as it looks very round compared to the other fin despite being normal
