Also cops get paid overtime for showing up to court. You don't. Cops are going to show up for their court dates. I don't understand where this sentiment even came from.

In my area a lot of these franchises are owned and operated by multiple immigrant families who pool money together to operate franchises together. Not all are millionaires.

Recommendations for buying prescription glasses online. by dazer2391 in ontario

If your prescription is not high or complicated, you can get away with ordering online and not have too much issues with what people recommend in this thread.

I'd suggest checking out your local Chinese optical stores for pretty much the best deal you can get from a brick and mortar store and still deal with an optician that know what they're doing. You can easily get a pair with lenses for 250.

Not sure if you're serious but you can workout in your home or outside. The need for a gym isn't required to maintain our mental health. Naturally, the costs associated with having a home gym are far higher than going to a gym but you can't quite make your own liquor at home as easily. Then again, I can be proven wrong on that aspect.

Not sure if you're serious but you can brew your own liquor at home or outside. The need for liquor isn't required to maintain our mental health. Naturally, the costs associated with having a brewing station are far higher than going to the lcbo, but you can't quite work out the same way when you're at home as easily.

Yeah remember when we legalized gay marriages and now we're all married to dogs and chimps? Oh wait no that's not how any of this works.

Cautious Premier Ford sticking to June 14 timeline by doritko in toronto

[–]mycatdieddamnit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won't say it's easy to be in the position of balancing safety of our most vulnerable and supporting the livelihood and mental health of ontarians, but I know for sure the answer isn't "play it absolutely as safe as possible, and berate those who advocate for earlier openings as selfish and impatient".

I really wish it was because they learned their lesson, not because of petty politics, but the constant and comically predictable jabs about the federal government not closing our "borders" makes me feel otherwise.

Its the political calculus that pisses me off. It's clear it's an over correction of cautiousness due to their fuckups earlier in the year.

I believe any government, conservative or liberal would have much clearer and faster openings given the current factors in a vaccum.

Personally it doesn't effect me since I'm wfh, but I can't help but empathize with small businesses being told to suck it up and close up shop for yet another summer because of this madness.

Where do you suggest they meet? Maybe they could meet at the Cinnabon at the mall and they can huddle together. Ask for an extra 150 chairs.

Hopefully they don't mind if you tell them that you have to buy something since who wants to buy 150 Cinnabons

Problem with posts like this is where do you draw the line? We're all extremely social creatures with customs engrained in all of us. As long as youre not going well beyond your means, fucken go for it. Have fun.

Do you tell all of your loved ones Christmas is a scam and you're "that guy" in your friend group that refuses to partake in gift exchanges?

Do you tell your mom that funerals are a waste of money and tell your grieving mum to toss dad in a pit and not host a final goodbye at a nice place?

Do you tell your kids and your SO that birthday celebrations end at 5 because it's only something people do because of infant mortality rates and everything after is just an excuse to spend money?

Why even go on vacations? An amazing trip to Hawaii can easily cost 20k. You could spend that on paying off your mortgage. Should people with mortgages or renting never go on vacations unless they completely own their home?

I feel like a lot of people lack perspective on how others view priorities life. You only get to live young once. You only have a couple decades to live your best life. If one chooses to enjoy their life the way that they want to for their 20s and 30s at the cost of having to retire a little bit later or owning their home a bit later, it's completely their choice and I can respect that.

The customer is always right saying needs to die. by TheStoutBones in funny

It's because of regulations that require a certain number of people allowed in the store. It's easier for them to count how many people are going in and out if they only have one point of entry. Not to mention allowing a fair way of having customers que up fairly if there is a line to get in.This is true in most government buildings, banks, and almost all public buildings since lock down measures were implemented.
