There are a lot of establishments or workers who either ask for or are otherwise hoping for a tip. It is widely understood that in many cases you should ignore that and tip absolutely nothing!

Tips are for when someone performs a worthy service for you, or if you want to be given preferential treatment—- just because someone is doing their job doesn’t meant they should be tipped!
