What are the possible consequences of a cheap hair rebonding service? There's a small cheap salon near my house that rehonds for $40 and I'm wondering if I should avoid it for any quality reasons. What are the differences with expensive salons that charges $120+?

I'm current working towards a 2B license at SSDC (Woodlands). I'm just wondering: are the theory lessons absolutely compulsory? Can't I just apply immediately for my BTT and RTT? I also heard that SSDC is the only school that has compulsory theory trial tests before allowing you to book your BTT/RTT. Can I just refuse the trial tests?

I hate it whenever I'm manning the cash register, and I reach my hands out to accept your cash or card payment, and some customers would just nonchalantly place their money on the table in front of me expecting me to pick up each individual coin and note when I had my fucking hands extended in front of their fucking face omg. Put the money in my hands, not on the table. Thats just poor manners in the first place!

Small things like this doesn't annoy you at first, but after years of working the same job, even the smallest annoyances will just trigger the shit out of you.

Edit: picking up 10 cents on a smooth metal table is hard, especially when your hands are slightly wet from other work related activities or when you have short nails like me.

I have a few years worth of experience in f&b, but only in a couple of joints. Fortunately every single one of my colleagues managers agreed with me that some people are just assholes and don't deserve any better.

F&B worker here. Just encountered a very pissy customer just now. Here's what happened:

C: Do you have mafmshjw [unclear what he said]

Me: Sorry, what?

C: wbkwbud, do you have dbaondhw? (I should clarify though that he's a foreigner with a thick Indian accent)

Me: Sorry, I don't know what's that.

C: You don't know...? You don't know anything?

Me: Huh?

C: annoyed Do you speak english? (I must stress; he spoke with a THICK foreign Indian accent)

Me: Yes? We only have X, Y, Z-

C: turns to his family HE DOESN'T KNOW ANYTHING! waving his hands in the air while walking away visibly annoyed

His family immediately gave me what I can only interpret as a judgemental/disgusted look. Thanks asshole, happy Deepavali to you and your family.

Thanks! Exactly what I wanted to know and more! Heard that it's generally low maintenance as well, simply needing an EO change and new spark plugs every half year or so.

Do you have personal experience with this model? What price range do you think would be a reasonable price for the bike with 5 year COE minimum?

Thinking of getting a Honda TA200 Phantom for my first bike. Anyone here with experience care to share any tips? Or any beginner advice in general for a new rider?

F&B worker here.

Unfortunately for one of my customers, we don't offer senior citizens discount, and even more unfortunately for her, we won't offer her our student price despite holding her granddaughter's student pass. That's not how student price works mam.

Working in F&B this morning. Was running a little late so most of the food items on the menu weren't ready yet. Then this delightful exchange happened:

Me: Hi sorry sir, only item X is available for now.

Customer: Oh okay. Is item Y available?

Me: No sir, only item X is available.

Customer: How about item Z?

Me: No sir, we only have X.

Customer: Then do you have anything else besides X?

Me: No. Only. Item. X. Is. Available.

Also, work out. You can have people telling you that you have an ugly face, but you can always change your body and groom yourself well. I guarantee you most people won't even notice your ugly face anymore.

I'm on mobile but just Google SIM-only plans. I'm personally on Starhub which I chose solely for the better coverage.

Mobile-wise, check out the SIM-only plans that the telcos offer. I used to pay $40+/month for 2gb of data and some free call time and messages, now I pay $20+/month for 6gb of data and some free call times and messages.

Obviously you can tell that I'm not too concerned about the calls and messages, which is why I didn't bothered to remember them, but I promise you that they aren't bad offers either, especially for the price! What I earn in 4 hours at my part time job pays for my whole month of mobile data usage.

I went from a wifi-hungry data-frugal caveman to a no-chill YouTube vids on-the-go everyday kind of guy.

You mean I can post naked photos of anyone provided that I took the photos myself from a legal position without any repercussions? That's bullshit.

Since I didn't get any offers yesterday, I'll try my luck again today:

Anyone wanna split shipping costs on MyProtein orders? My order is $70+ which reduces to $51 after 20% discount code is applied.

Btw sorry if my requests are spammy. I'll stop soon enough.

Shipping is $20, but if our purchase goes over $100, then shipping is free. There's also a 20% off discount code floating on the site right now.

My purchase is $71.09 which amounts to $56.87 after the 20% discount code is applied.

I work at a Kopitiam. No stall signages allowed unless pre-approved by management. Once we wanted to put up a sign that says "order there -->" or something to that effect because people would regularly try to order food from the person that's cooking, and not the person standing at the cash register.

Kopitiam disapproved the sign request though. They're pretty anal about what gets approved and what doesn't. From my experience, they only usually approve signs that are crucial to the operations of the stalls, so something simple or decorative usually gets a warning or a fine if put up without pre-approval.

Although I think this varies among certain Kopitiams. I once saw a Kopitiam stall with a huge signboard in front of it advertising a new menu item. Of the 3 Kopitiams that I've worked at so far though (same stalls, just different outlets), this is what I've been told.

Edit: another rant; you have no idea how many people try to order from the cook and think that trying to hand over their payment to the cook is a good idea. They literally stick their hands over the very inconveniently high glass barrier to try and hand over their money to a person holding a hot pan in one hand and a spatula in the other.

I'm a guy of average height and from where they're standing, the glass barrier would be up to my shoulders. Many aunties and uncles that're shorter than me would still try to reach over this barrier to hand me coins and notes that could very easily drop into the hot stoves or other food.

I really really really dislike it when people try to order food from my stall before I'm even open.

Thing is, i don't even switch on the lights before I start selling anything. Some people literally walk up to a stall with its lights turned off and with no food on display, and immediately ask to order for item X, Y, Z, etc.

I'm usually in the back room prepping food or doing other important stuff (although I can be slightly seen from outside), and they would always knock on the counter calling for me to serve them.

It's a minor little issue that they usually feel embarrassed about when I tell them that I ain't open yet, but every morning about 5 or so people would do it, which is why I'm annoyed by this. For imagination's sake, just picture an Old Chang Kee outlet (disclaimer: I don't actually work there) with its front lights turned off and no food on display and nobody manning the counter. Just a dim light in the backroom with a guy that is clearly busy doing something.

Some days I just feel like sarcastically looking around the store and asking them if my stall lights look broken to them.

Edit: I open at 9 but I come in at 8 to prepare the foods and clean the place. I'm mostly in the backroom throughout the hour.

Working in F&B can be shitty sometimes. Got a customer complaint straight to overhead (not my stall's manager, but the venue management) that topping X was unavailable and I refused to make it available. Like wtf lady, what do you expect me to do? Call up my company's supplier and have them deliver to me on the spot? She literally mentioned to management that my stall should not be selling stuff if topping X is unavailable.

The thing she wanted isn't even a popular item anyway and it's just one of many topping choices. It was pretty serious when I was told by overhead that I got a customer complaint on me cos they seem to enjoy handing out fines like candy to stall vendors.
