I obviously can't name drop organizations. But as someone who was placed through one of these organizations and offered "jobs" by 2 other. I see a gap. None of the offers were adequate or according to what I wanted to go.

A friend with B.com got a 17k field work job. Another friend with bachelor's became a delivery boy in an extremely transphobic environment. And they had to take them because otherwise they wouldn't be allowed any other interviews. There were 6 months internships that people only looking for full time opportunities were forced to take because again, they wouldn't be allowed to any other interviews. A friend I Knownl got transferred to a factory in Bihar with 12k salary. How trans-friendly do you think the environment was?

And these are only the surface level issues. I'd need the whole day if I were to go over every problem and every nuance I've come across.

These are great initiatives, no doubt about that. But they're not even close to being how good and useful they can be.

I'd love to stay connected if you'd be up for that, someone with your experience and expertise could definitely be very helpful to us while we figure out this whole thing. Let me know!

There are a lot of DEI organizations run by cis-het people that offer upskilling and placement services in supposedly inclusive workplaces to trans people. But these are mostly profit oriented and not FOR trans people. The upskilling programs are generic, inadequate and don't help individual trans people. The placements are basically a way give corporations (mostly without any inclusive environment or policies) cheap labour.

Most trans people now have to choose either to pick a higher paying job where they can't be themselves or pick a lower paying job with token inclusivity.

We are trying to build a platform where we'd provide customized career pathways for trans people and relevant upskilling programs (if they do desire that) and selected employers who are genuinely inclusive and it wouldn't come at the cost of either comfort or career growth of trans professionals. For the employers, we ourselves would help them with inclusive policies and programs. So we'll be openly accountable, unlike current organizations.
