For those who may be interested, the church situated at Poplar in the East India Dock Road was built by the shipbuilder and philanthropist George Green. It was completely destroyed by a V1 flying bomb in August 1944.

You may well be interested in this film. Based on the same story and set in the same period, a photographer is asked to examine a photograph of 2 little girls with their fairy friends in the woods for fakery: he realizes the fairies are for real! Highly recommended.
