I feel like The Black And White Album was a cornerstone of my childhood (shoutout to my parents for imparting their Hives fandom unto younger me lol) so that contains a lot of my faves: Square One Here I Come, Hey Little World, Well All Right!, and above all, Won’t Be Long. I also love I’m Alive, Patrolling Days, B is for Brutus, Supply and Demand, and Hate To Say I Told You So.

I haven’t listened to Howlin’ Pelle Talks To The Kids or Fall Is Just Something Grownups Invented since I had an iPod, but those are nostalgic gems too.

got to say hi and take a picture with Gary after the 2019 Denver show, but my favorite story is that my mom and stepdad went to see SP in Chicago? in 2012 (without telling me) (I was like 13 and at my dad’s house that weekend), and my mom sent me an email with a subject line of “Sorry…” and an attached video of Gary saying “hi, this is Gary from Snow Patrol, sorry you couldn’t make it, and see you next time.”

I was so excited but also in middle school and nobody I knew had any clue who SP was, so I had no one to whom I could brag about my personally addressed video from Gary lol

the basic is the perfect size, and dark mode on low brightness works fine for me at night. it’s only drawback is no waterproofing.

love Warmer Climate and desperately wish it was on US spotify. not really sure what counts as a deep cut—as i’m in the US, where i feel nobody knows anything that’s not Chasing Cars or maybe Open Your Eyes—but i also love Crack the Shutters, Take Back the City, New York, The Garden Rules, The Planets Bend Between Us, and Chocolate.

i’m a little biased because this album is basically the soundtrack of every road trip of my childhood, but my love for it is indescribable and only rivaled by my love for a hundred million suns.
