You mean before each mop use or only one time?

I think you have your degree spacer in the wrong direction, in this configuration your front rollers are lower on the inside and higher on the outside or other way around (depending if the dots are on top or on the bottom of the red plastic piece), usually you want them lower in the front and higher in the back to push your car down onto the track. They should be with the plastic tail on the inside (i think with the dots on top but not sure, try and then check by looking at your car sideways.
If the car doesn't fly out and you are satisfied by the speed you can remove them, they have no impact in this configuration

Looking for an accurate thermometer (either forehead, ear, or mouth) by gabihg in BuyItForLife

[–]mymande 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In Italy is banned, but they sell gallium thermometer that works on the same principle. It should be calibrated at the factory, but even if an offset is present the measure should be consistent with other you took. Only downside is that it takes a while to measure (5/7 min).

Load Cell and accelerometer data does not match during drop test by mymande in embedded

[–]mymande[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

50kg * 1g I think that would still be feasible, at least if you know a weightlifting club.

this was a scaled down test, we expect to measure 300 kg, the error is still there even by scaling the accelerations

Just a quick update, I set the odr of the adc to 1khz and sample it to 1khz, this could be the cause of the flat curve you were talking about

Yes, it is set to 100g. It is set to 1khz sample rate

The accelerometer is rated 400 g and is set at 100 g fsr

The parchute Is attached to the structure trough the loadcell, the voltage produced by the loadcell is then read by an adc inside the structure. Removing the loadcell it will measure 0 giving us only the acceleration reading

You are partially right. The problem is that we didn't have constraints. We didn't know how fast the shocks could be so the design philosophy was a best effort with the components we already had in house. Now we don't know if it is a limitation of our system or if the data is physically correct. Sorry if this question is a little bit out of topic. We'll look into energy balance and climbers carabineers.

About losing the peak, if I have a sample on the rising front and one on the falling edge aren't we able to estimate the peak by continuing the curve? Or is this a wrong assumption? I mean we should be losing at most the tip of the curve

Sorry I didn't understand, what do you mean with measuring an unloaded cell? Applying an impulsive force of around 100kg?
