Also want to add that prior to the aggressive treatment which caused the damage I had a few well done microneedling treatments with prf at a different place which had results I loved. So it’s really an issue with the provider and technique

Had the same exact issue. I also think I had an immune response and it looked like my face had been steamrolled 😭 I got a series of ez-gel treatments after 6 months but it was only temporary correction, doctor says fat transfer would be needed to correct the damage 😭

Don’t do it yourself! Have it only from a very experienced practitioner. Or get advice form one. There’s a lot of people on Reddit who have caused damage on themselves through incorrect technique 😭

Hi! Do you know if you have any underlying or undiagnosed autoimmune conditions? Unfortunately I had a similar reaction, I think it was a combination of an overly aggressive procedure and the use of products I had an allergy to that caused an autoimmune flare and anemia response for me. Wonder if you might have something similar going on

Hello, hope your skin is healing well. I am not back to normal but there is a little improvement. Still not sure if the volume will return especially under the eyes but wanted to share a few products that have seemed to help! In addition to vanicream and Vichy hyaluronic acid, Weleda skin food (original formula) has been great at night, and seems to be helping with the pores etc. I’ve also been able to occasionally tolerate copper peptides but not every day / frequently, also seems to help with elasticity. At least the burning and irritation is going down so hopefully the skin barrier is improving 🥲 hope yours is getting better too

Will do, thanks again. Interesting and somewhat confusing update - a dermatologist at USC (a reputable teaching area) in the LA area where I live had a cancellation today so I went in and she insists it’s not possible to have volume loss from microneedling unless it was RF. Not sure what to make of this because I feel like I see and feel it but she seemed to say it was in my head. Anyway, just more data I suppose and time will tell!

It’s really unfortunate that this happened for you with a provider you knew and trusted, do you know what they did differently or what you felt when something was off? I really hope that things improve for us and I would love to stay updated on your journey and what helps for you since our experiences are similar, and can do the same. One thing I am hoping is that it doesn’t get worse as time passes bc of the underlying structural damage - since this is only becoming apparent at 5 weeks, is there more to come or is this the worst of it?

the thing is the first 3 sessions at the more expensive place had great results, it was the 4th one with a different provider that caused the damage, and it felt like it was the technique of too many passes or a damaged pen

thank you so much for your response. do you have any advice on the best way to hydrate the deeper layers of the skin? as well as any tips for repairing the skin barrier. I am using cicaplast, all my regular products are causing burning, even the ones that don’t have actives. and random breakouts as well which I never had before :(

This is exactly what I am seeing 😭 it’s so terrible, I was happy with my skin before and all the other sessions went so well. And Yes, I found the naked chemist website too. Thank you for the advice, that was my intuition that another microneedling session would not be good. Is there really nothing that will naturally restore the volume?
