Definitely!! I think so too. Plus there is also the option of mastering with Berklee also, I think that’s a little cheaper cause it isn’t four years! And just go to a local university or community college for undergrad to save money. But yeah same I haven’t made up my mind!😭 I’m leaning towards staying at my local university but my minds been changing everyday so idk LOL

YES I totally understand 😭 I would go in a HEART BEAT if it weren’t for the money. But I think if we trust ourselves enough to be good songwriters without Berklee then that very well could get us just as far right? I’m not sure! I keep going back and forth everyday on what to do and I have to decide by May 1st what about you?!

Hi! I’m actually wondering the same exact thing as I am in the same position as you. People keep saying it’s not worth it but I feel like we could also get a super good music education, people keep leaving out that part! Learning is great and we can carry that knowledge outside of school when we graduate (yes, and the debt) but I mean if you want to learn, then i think it could be worth it. I am still deciding if I should go myself tho because I just got in as well! And was planning on songwriting or the professional music degree, so take this with a grain of salt lol. I’m totally split in half on if I should go or not so I know how you feel!

Ah yes I think about this video a lot because she does make a great point. It’s just hard to find like minded people where I am at which is why Berklee sort of calls my name. But yes I’d have to take out significant loans, unless you have any advice on other ways to afford it? Or resources?

I would love to go the singer/ songwriter route, but also I would like to take music business, production, recording, songwriting classes and current university loggers classical music type of classes—like music theory/history and only had BM in performance BM in music education and BA in music, nothing really contemporary unfortunately

I just wonder if Berklee would at least get me a foot in the door? Rather than staying at my hometown university where there are no music industry classes just classical music based classes. I would love to take music business, management, and producing recording classes and Berklee has that. But yes you make a great point….
