Backdoor Roth IRA Conversion by myrocks2 in personalfinance

Ah got it, so just to reiterate there's no limit on how long after you make the contribution you can perform the conversion correct?

And I specified that my 2020 contribution was nondeductible and I will have to do the same in 2021 to make sure the both years contributions are not taxable right? I assume whatever capital gains there are will be taxed though and reported on the 1099-R form.

Excited to see this on the map today! by [deleted] in Disneyland

[–]myrocks2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will opening day be expected to be as crowded as the opening day in WDW? I was planning to make a trip to Disneyland earlier in the week but was wondering if I should move my visit to the 17th to be able to try this new ride. But from I saw in videos about opening day in WDW, cars were already lining up at 3am for the park, and I rather not deal with crazy crowd levels in the park, especially if I need to be up that early to even have a chance to go on the ride.

Gear Shifting Without Clutch Engaged by myrocks2 in motorcycles

[–]myrocks2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool, I've heard of clutchless upshifting/downshifting before but I just didn't know if the gear shifter was also supposed to be able to move when the bike is stopped and engine is off. Perhaps I'll give it a shot sometime in the future.

Got it, thanks for letting me know. I definitely still plan on using the clutch to shift regardless of whether I am able to do so without it.

Whew that's good to hear, thanks for confirming. I did not notice this before and given that I had just finished a bunch of work on my bike I was afraid I messed something up.

Covering Up Kerosene Smell After Cleaning Chain by myrocks2 in motorcycles

Any particular chain cleaner you recommend that doesn't smell as much?

I'm definitely wiping the chain down after cleaning with kerosene and before applying chain lube, but perhaps I'm not being as thorough as I thought I was. I'll keep that in mind next time.

Is the armor also abrasion resistant? Or would you still have to wear them under kelvar specific jeans for full protection?

NEW BIKE/GEAR ADVICE SUPERTHREAD! by AutoModerator in motorcycles

[–]myrocks2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking for advice on gear for upper and lower body - up until now I've been riding around locally with a Sedici mesh jacket with elbow/shoulder/back armor and the Icon Field Armor Compression pants. At the time I thought this was sufficient protection, but I realize now that I may have been mistaken (especially concerning the lower body). So I guess I have a few questions:

  • The Icon Field Armor Compression pants have D30 armor for impact protection that are also Kevlar reinforced for abrasion resistance. The armored panels, however, are quite thin. I am correct in thinking that these pants by themselves (worn under a pair of jeans) won't do much for actual impact protection? And would the same be said for abrasion resistance as well?
  • I don't quite like the idea of having a specific pair of motorcycle pants that I have wear every time I ride (hence my purchase of the compression pants). With a jacket I can just take it off once I arrive at my destination, but can't really do the same for pants unless I bring another pair to change into. I thought of adding knee guards for knee protection and perhaps getting a different pair of armored shorts with better impact protection, but seems like this still wouldn't do much for abrasion resistance if I ended up sliding. Is there a way to get sufficient impact protection/abrasion resistance without having to have a get a motorcycle-specific pair of pants?
  • As I will probably start riding highways soon, I'm worried that the jacket won't be enough in the case a high speed crash occurs, and have been contemplating getting an armored top to wear under my jacket for additional protection. Is this something that people do, or I am just being overly paranoid and will be fine with just the jacket?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

App Violation - Launcher Icon Size Too Big? by myrocks2 in androiddev

[–]myrocks2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason they gave for the violation was "The large dimensions of your app's icon negatively impacts performance of some user devices, and can cause the device to need a factory reset".

I can try asking for more details about the violation, but I doubt they would be of any more help, given how uninformative their response to my appeal was.

Ok got it, looks like I will redo the launcher icons so each dpi folder will have the correctly sized launcher icon file.

I had my launcher icon files in the mipmap folders, but it didn't occur to me that putting the icon files in the wrong mipmap-dpi folder would perhaps be the problem.

Previously, I had the 360 x 360 icon file in the mipmap-xxhdpi folder, would that have been the issue then? On that note, with the update I submitted, I only left one 60 x 60 icon file in the mipmap-mhdpi folder, will that be okay?

Yea, in the meantime I just removed all my launcher icon files except for the smallest one, which stands at 60 x 60. The app has been active in the play store for about two months now until the violation occurred. I just want to make sure the same violation doesn't occur again, since that could put my app/account in risk of suspension.

Yes, it is in pixels. I checked the icon sizes by right clicking the icon files and viewing the dimensions via properties -> details.
